Not really. A Ginas loss today would also put us back in the driver's seat.
Well, not the only one but the main one - they are between us and the 6 spot and we can keep anyone else out of that spot by winning ... and the Ginas just won.

Cowboys win. Giants win. To the surprise of no one! :D

Man you're right though about handing us the keys. Is this team ready to take control?

the betting line after last week opened at 4 and went to 4.5 Sunday night

it has since gone up and today it is at 7

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Interesting. Guess the line changed because the Panthers were eliminated from playoffs yesterday? Hopefully that means they will keep Kuechly out.

We gotta take care of business tonight. I think the Bears game on Saturday is going to be tougher than we might have expected a few weeks ago.

Wait, do we seriously play another early game after playing a late night game, giving us the least amount of time possible to rest and prepare?

What the hell, league office? The NFL has it out for us this year.

Wait, are you seriously surprised? :D

Annoying that the league hosed us yet again. But still kind of psyched to have that game to watch on Christmas eve.

Other than the weather, Chicago shouldn't be a very tough game. To them, the Packers are like Dallas is to us. They won't have nearly the same incentive when we play. We can't sleep on them, but we shouldn't have much trouble getting a W in that game, even on short rest. Plus, it give's us an extra day to prepare for the Ginas at home. That game is shaping up to be the hinge on which our season swings.

That's a fair point about divisional games, but the Bears have been much better since Cutler went out. Played close games with both the Packers and Lions.

Just started poking around for tix for that Giants game. We gotta make sure fedex is PACKED for that game.

The Lions are divisional for them as well. They have 3 wins on the year, so I can't see them really getting up for a non-divisional game, in freezing weather, when their season is already over.

PLAYOFFS!

well, that was certainly very revealing - we are still in it but that was atrocious - teams that are coached well do not play like that

I had to do some driving so I listened to the first half on the radio ... not good at all

why doesn't Cousins audible out of plays that have no chance and why was TE Davis put in a position of blocking a DE who was on the other end of the line on that first play of the 3rd qtr?

Its over. The playoffs are a long shot after last night. For as many strides this team has made, we are a LONG way off from being one of the teams to talk about. Joe Barry needs to be shown the door, as well as 1/2 the guys on that side of the ball. I've never seen a unit more unprepared in my life. Every game, and seemingly every play there are guys running around with absolutely NO IDEA what their responsibilities are. That's on the coaching. We have a lack of talent problem as well on that side of the ball, but players not knowing what their responsibilities are on a reghular basis shows a severe lack of coaching. Wow, I thought Jim Haslett was bad, but this guy Barry shouldn't even be coaching high school at this point.

we are playing meaningful games in December and that does count for something - this last game was a huge setback because of the lack of any effort or desire to do better - pointing to the defense is easy but this was a major setback

btw - playing on MNF had nothing to do with the outcome - that was just a woeful effort on everyone's part

we're getting better but we obviously have a long way to go - maybe next year

The possibility of the Skins going to the playoffs this season is wishful thinking. I honestly do not see them beating Chicago in their house Saturday. I say we won't win Saturday because the Skins as a whole has regressed and Chicago is playing much better football. I'm not saying Chicago has more talent, but they are playing better than we are now. Last night...we are fortunate to not have been blown out by Carolina who is a much better football team than the Skins.

this team was expected to be at 7 or 8 wins maybe a low of 6 but 9 or 10 was a possibility

we are who we are - we have looked good at times but last night was horrible

we could end up losing the next 2 games and that would be a big shame - we are a better team than that

we might still make the playoffs but we are not what you'd call a good playoff team - not even close

If you look at the CHI's schedule, they have been in all the games they have played this year except for a couple. They are not close to as bad as their record indicates. They are also 3-4 at home (vs. 0-7 away).

We haven't looked as bad as we did against CAR since week 1. The team looked lethargic and the effort was quite low. Cousins looked horrible from the first play thru the end of the game. Was it the cold? DJackson looked completely disinterested.

That being said, I still think we can pull this one out --- CHI is still 3-11 after all (but have had a decently difficult schedule). Like most weeks, it will come down to how many points Cousins can put up and how much we can keep our DEF off the field.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

we can end up 9-6-1 - I don't see how that gets us in the playoffs - it's possible but highly unlikely when you look at the schedules

then again ....

I know they spent a lot more on the offensive side than the defensive side. Maybe Barry can get the defense better with higher-paid players, but I doubt it.

I have zero confidence in Joe Barry's ability even with more talent on the defensive side of the ball. I have seen far too many plays where more than one person on the defense has absolutely no idea of what their responsibility is pre-snap. That is all on the coaching, I'm sorry. I believe I heard Jon Gruden say last night that we've given up over 50% conversion on the defensive side of the ball when it is 3rd & 8-14 yards. That is just beyond ridiculous.

Before kickoff against CAR we were 53% to get in. Now we are 25%.

Tampa Bay is 42%. Green Bay is 57%.

We must now pray for the Vikings at Green Bay, Dallas hosting Detroit, and New Orleans hosting Tampa Bay.

As "predicted" the Ginas are not one of the teams keeping us from controlling our destiny. We cannot reach 10 wins.

Detroit could easily lose out and give us life. Tampa Bay is still a big problem.
