Ealge Postgame - Panther Pregame

Post by DarthMonk »

This week is a lot like when we played ARZ while BUC played SDC. We win and BUC loses and we are in control again.

CAR played well this past week. They are trying to be spoilers. We must not let them spoil our Monday Night. We must finish them off.

And Dallas, could you please beat BUC? Thanks.

seems crazy to want the pukes to win ... can you imagine the turmoil if they lost 2 in a row

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

the opening line (after the Eagles game) had the Redskins favored by 4

at half time of the Sunday night game we were favored by 4.5

maybe, but we can win the last 3 and still not make the playoffs
Definitely. If they lose and we win then winning the last 3 get us in.

like most games, the better teams don't always win, the teams that want it more, find a way to get it done

We got raped by the schedule makers this season and I don't mean the "Yes, I'm being raped but the sex is kind of good!" type of rape. I mean the "Did anybody get the number of the prisoner whose bitch I became?" kind of rape.

I can guarantee you there are certain teams who will never have that kind of scheduling. (Cough ... Giants)

It was great to get that win yesterday, but I'm still feeling kind of down about it. It just doesn't seem likely to me that we'll make the playoffs with this defense.

I'm glad they came through on that last drive and was nice to get a couple turnovers. But they were 9/18 on third downs and 2/2 on 4th. That's just horrendous. The Eagles had the ball for 36 minutes compared to our 23. I would argue this is the third game in a row where we needed the defense to just come up with ONE stop to give us a chance to win the game. Glad Kerrigan came through at the end.

I know in my head that these division games are always crazy, never what we expect. So I'm going to hope they show better on Monday night. Hopefully the home crowd has them fired up for Carolina. They did a great job against Green Bay a few weeks ago. Worth remembering that if you watched the Packers shred Seattle yesterday.

The good news is, we get an extra day to get ready for CAR and if we win the Saturday game we get an extra day to get ready for some Gina.

Glad we won!! With that said, third down defense… :explode:
Did anybody else think about Thompson going down at the one and running out the clock and kicking the FG? BTW it was nice to see Trent out in front of that play!!
Also why did Murphy pick the ball up and run?? At that point in the game just fall on the ball…game over!!

Yes. Yes it was !!

Good question. The actual grabbing of the ball was good given where it was we he encountered it. Then give yourself up.

It is if you're ugly and that's the only way you can get the "D"

And now I'll stop making rape jokes before someone goes "That's not funny! Rape is serious!"

why the negativity? why not think of all the positives? on that final drive, I was sure we were going to lose another game we should have won

we won - we get the panthers on a MNF game - we should be enjoying this ... I certainly am

Yeah I was sure they were going to score on that final drive too. You're right though - I'm all positive the next six days!

Oh Oh! ... this just in ...
The Panthers have been a disastrous 1-5 straight-up and just 1-4-1 ATS, which has been bad news for bettors. As for the Redskins, although their 3-2-1 record over their past six games isn't that impressive, they have gone 5-1 ATS. As a matter of fact, the Redskins are 9-4 ATS this season, which is tied with the Cowboys as the second-best mark in the NFL. However, we might have to throw all those nice stats out the window since this is a Monday night game. Since 2010, the Redskins are just 2-7 straight-up on Mondays, including a 38-16 loss to the Steelers in Week 1. They'll also be playing a Panthers team that has won four straight against the Redskins, including a 44-16 win in Charlotte last season.

"historically" - things don't look so good

C'mon guys - This Redskins team has shown a lot of guts in finding ways to overcome an amazingly bad defense

I'm looking for this group to continue to fight and find a way to win - GO SKINS

Far as I'm concerned the Play-Off's have started. Nows' the time to peak, Kelley showed us yesterday that the more he touches the ball the better he gets. maybe somebody up in a booth has noticed it and will forgo the 4th & 3 screen play right into the teeth of the defense.
Thank you Mr. Kerrigan!

Re Thompson going down on the 1 ---- I did also, but a bird in hand.... Based on the way Hopkins has been kicking lately, nothing is automatic. You take the TD.

Re Trent --- agree. And as a DL --- you fall on the loose ball in ALL situations..... It's not like Trent was going to outrun the entire PHI offense.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Yeah, I agree on that, but I hated seeing so much time left on the clock after the score.

Some good news from yesterday for these guys:
Redskins LB Will Compton has a PCL sprain and is Week to week and LB Su'a Cravens has a moderate elbow flexor and also is Week to week. Surgery is not needed for either player, coach Jay Gruden said.
I would have been bummed if Cravens was done for the season.

For some reason, the meaning of this totally escaped me when I read it earlier. I really drank way too much watching the end of that ***** game yesterday.

I wonder if the Panthers will dare go at him? I'm not sure Wentz threw his way more than twice.
