Kirk Cousins NFC Offensive Player of the Month

Post by Prowl33 »

Nice to have a guy that can pour it on in the 2nd half of the year. Maybe he can repeat in Dec too?!

Meaningless awards ... [-(

Give me a playoff win or two.

Not to sound bitter but I really don't want a Dan Fouts or Dan Marino. Give me a Terry Bradshaw or a Joe Montana. Fouts and Marino were better quarterbacks but Eli Manning has more rings than they do.

QB’s get way too much credit when they win and too much blame when they lose. Can’t understand why W/L get recorded on that position. Redskins won three SB with three different QB’s! If I told you that a QB won 3 out of 4 SB’s with 3 different LT’s he’d be a first ballot HOF’er, yet Joe Jacoby won 3 out of 4 with 3 different QB’s and is still waiting?? As for your example Joe, Terry and Eli had one thing in common; they played with great defenses with HOF players…off the top of my head… Ronnie Lott, Deion Sanders, Charles Haley Michael Strahan, Joe Greene, Jack Ham, Mel Blount, Jack Lambert…yet I can’t think of one for Marino or Fouts? I guess one could argue the biggest thing Cousins is missing is a HOF defensive player…Sean Taylor come to mind…what could have been!!

I'm just making the point I'd rather have team accomplishments than individual awards. Twenty-five years of "also ran" is about my limit.

Oh, and Marino and Fouts had Hall Of Fame receivers. Clayton, Duper, Winslow, Stallworth.

of course! We're just weeks away from having a shot at getting a playoff win. No reason not to enjoy some success in the regular season.

I did for about two minutes. Then I remembered we lost the last game we played, against the Pukes. That always leaves me bitter.

In any case, I'll be stunned if anyone is talking about this at all in four weeks. :|

I bet it comes up again about 13 weeks from now.

I think the negotiating ship has sailed. The Skins gambled and lost. They'll be paying Cousins $24MM a year regardless of what he does from here forward.

They better hope he doesn't win the Super Bowl because they'll be paying him upwards of $30MM a year.

I think they'd be willing to make that trade.

I'm sure they would but that would hurt their ability to address any other position on the roster.

as good as he is - Cousins is not getting $30M to play QB for the Redskins next season
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

It helps to take the entire statement in context rather than taking either the prefatory clause or the operative clause independently out of context.

Let's try this again. If Cousins wins the Super Bowl this year the Redskins will be paying him $30MM or more a year.

Given Andrew Luck is making that and hasn't won anything the statement is logical and reasonable within the intended context.

I understand the basis and would totally love to both win the Super Bowl and have Cousins get a contract for $30M

I'm all in on that - it's going to be a fun couple of months here
