Washington @ Dallas Pre-Game

Post by DarthMonk »

So glad we beat the Packers. We might need the cushion.

Thanksgiving is gonna be tough. We can do it but I fear stopping Elliott, if we can, will leave us vulnerable.

We may have to score a lot.

I have no faith in winning this game. We got screwed by the scheduling.

Really impressed that the Skins didn’t look past the Packers and took care of business Sunday night. No the schedulers did us no favors, but we can beat the Cowboys. They don’t really have a signature win yet, load the box and dare Dak to beat you!

Oh Skins aren't the only team that has to stop the run...after their first three games...

To beat Dallas we have to get after Dak. Murphy, Kerrigan, and Smith will be huge, as will bakers play. I agree, stack the box don't let Zeek beat us, and get after Dak don't let him sit back there aND get comfortable.

The D game plan will hinge on Bakers' condition. If he is ok then the game plan should be overly aggressive, relentless attacks and hope the boys hav eenough to hold thru the 4th qrtr. If Baker is hurt then they'll probably have to be more conservative, a containment style. The aggressive attack works best with Baker slamming & disrupting up thru the middle with Kerrigan coming around the outside. Baker is a key element to both Kerrigan & Smiths' success'.
I had not followed Kellys' numbers, that is heart warming, thanks for putting the comparison up.

It was a big win. Looking ahead, I think we needed to win v. either GB or Dallas to stay in the playoff hunt. So that was a good start.

Schedulers definitely screwed us on this one. Hard to know what to expect Thursday. I'd like to see the offense not just score, but control the clock with long drives. It would be great now that we have some tape on Prescott if they can get after him. We just played arguably one of the best three QBs in the league on Sunday. Can't be afraid of Dak Prescott.

I really feel like if Norman shuts down or limits Bryant and if Cravens shuts down or limits Witten we should win this game.

I just think it's asking a lot of these two when they play two games less than four days apart.

Not to mention Moses was already hobbled and gets no recovery time.

Jackson is protecting that shoulder.

Baker was standing in the locker room post-game so maybe he's OK to go.

If we win this one we're officially out of the "also ran" category and the league is on notice.

That one is my biggest concern.

I liked how they used Cravens on Sunday night to spy on Rodgers. Expect we'll see some of that Thursday as well.

Yea, I'm torn on that one. I imagine Joe Barry is, too. Do you have Cravens shadow Witten or Prescott?

Greetings Skins fans from the frozen North of Michigan where your resident Dallas fan wanted to check in and say howdy-ho. Good luck & have a good Thanksgiving. I usually try to eat early on bird day, cuz I hate to get upset watching football. Not that you all care, but I think Dallas wins this one, say 21-17. But, hey, it's a division game, and the NFCE always plays each other tough.

Gotta say I am pretty happy with Dallas' draft this year.

So, keep watching the skies, and I'll try to check in after the game to either serve or eat some crow..

The Cowboys have beaten the following teams:

Redskins 6-3-1
Bears 2-8
49ers 1-9
Bengals 3-6-1
Packers 4-6
Eagles 5-5
Browns 0-11
Steelers 5-5
Ravens 5-5

The best team the have beaten this year is us and we are playing much better football than we were at the beginning of the year. I feel pretty good about our chances to knock them down a notch or two come Thursday.

Good stuff, man. I gotta say a few weeks ago I was impressed that they had beaten the Packers. Less so now.

Don't forget Comton, which of the two is the better pass defender? put him in Wittons' pocket and let the other spy if necessary, I've not seen Prescott be dangerous running. I'd say let the spy thing be an adjustment if necessary and focus on Witten and Elliot sneaking out in the flat.

we can win this game - we should have won the first game - the pukes were playing well at that time we are playing a lot better now

WIN OR LOSE - my ONLY concern is that we come out of this game with no major injuries

the NFL is going to have to consider giving teams more time between games - 4 days is not enough

the Redskins are the first and only team this season to play a Thursday game, on the road, against a divisional rival, after playing on Sunday night
THAT IS TOTAL BS
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Seems like it would be pretty easy to give both teams a bye before Thursday matchups.

You could even give half the league a home game on Thursday and the other half of the league that home game the following year.

They could even always be division matchups.

I'd maybe have had shadow zeek, and plug whatever whole he goes into, or contain him and keep him from breaking the sideline, then send frequent blitzes at Dak. Whitten won't matter as much if we can mess with daks timing and keep Zeek under 100 yards

This game is where Cousins can earn his money. Cowboys have been really solid but not great on defense. We know the Cowboys will move the ball, but if our offense keeps humming we have a good chance. The best thing that can happen is Redskins put a couple on the board early and the Cowboys get nervous and start getting out of their rhythm. They're the slowest moving offense in football. Get them out of their comfort zone.

That's my hope, at least.

I'm confident that we can win this game. The Pukes do not scare me. The only team they've beaten with a winning record is us, and that was before Stella got her groove back. I'm sensing a huge upset tomorrow.
