Former seventh-round pick adds ‘right kind of bulk’ in search of roster spot

Also these comments on Kouandjio are good to hear:

Can Arie Kouandjio push his way into the starting lineup? We haven’t seen him on the field yet this year but I’ve been told he’s up to about 325 pounds, up from 310 last year. He has the power and the nasty attitude that the team likes to have on the line. Did he use his year on the 53-man roster to polish his technique enough to possibly push past Shawn Lauvao and push Spencer Long over to center? We will have to wait until training camp to really get a handle on where Kouandjio is; he is one player who needs to be evaluated with full pads on.

I think I beat them to this idea.

I do remember it!

Seriously though, even if it means some growing pains this year, I'd be stoked to see the starting line look like: Trent-Kouandjio-Long-Scherff-Moses this year. Young guys, big guys all drafted by the team. With SM drafting depth guys to develop. That would be awesome.

almost any offensive line that we see on the field this season will be a vast improvement on the O line from a few years back

this O line discussion is making me remember how really bad that group was

BOT - I'm not sure what to expect as far as our win loss record - I do hope that we see better play from the defense and the O line

I'm not as concerned about the number of wins as I am about establishing that we have a really good QB in Cousins and that the other issues that have plagued this franchise for over a decade are now behind us and we can go into each and every season as a playoff contender - we have not been that for a long, long time and we are not that good this season either
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I just read up on him, thanks. I missed him altogether last year, I was focused more os Moses' play looking for improvement. Long does sound like somebody we need and maybe he is why Scott didn't go after a C in the draft. This guy is smart, huge, quick and a football player with attitude. I feel much better, thanks for pointing him out.

I think it will be between us Dullass.

I got us winning at least 11. Pukes win 9, G-string 6, Iggles get a boost from Wentz as Wentz takes over late in the season.

Could happen. We were 2-4 and then went 7-3. If we start the year hot by going 7-3, do you really think that 11-5 is out of reach? Or do you think it's impossible that we'll start the year hot? Why not us?

I'd be OK with 8-8. We have a tougher schedule this season, we still have holes in the defense, we don't know how much the rushing attack will improve, Cousins could step up or step back. More questions than answers right now.

we could be better than last season but I'd be surprised if we're an 11 or 12 win team from the huge mess of 2014 - I like where we are - I do not think we're a 6 win team (it's really early to say how good) but I doubt that we're an 11 win team - maybe Cousins shows he's an elite QB and not just a good NFL QB + maybe the defense can stop the run and be a lot better against the pass

give me an elite QB + a great run defense and a good pass defense and we are an 11 or 12 win team for sure ... maybe 16

I just don't think we're there yet ...

how much fun would that be though - I hope that Cousins does not sign a long term deal & gets more than Luck ($25M+) next year

I just don't see Cousins as an elite QB - I'd love to be wrong though

I am very optimistic, I don't see any real competition in the Division; the Iggles are in disarray, neither Homo or Payton will make it thru the season. I can see 11 wins.

On the positive side we don't have to face Peyton twice this season. On the negative side I think Eli is better these days.

Eli has been taking a beating the past two years, I am impressed how tough he is but I think he'll have a season ending injury. I don't want that to happen, he has earned my respect and all, but I think he and Romo are on the delicate side of tough. Ben falls into that catagory too.

I don't get bent out of shape if a "prediction" is quoted as being a losing season. Those who blurt out predictions are only saying them to have something to talk about. Now nobody can truly say how a team will finish, as we know how last season turned. Nobody "predicted" the Redskins to win the NFC East, but they did. So I do not get wrapped up in hogg wash talk, just play the damn game as tough as possible, and score more points than your opponent, and then win the game. That's what I want each week.

we won the NFC East last season so we were obviously the best team ... that is correct, right?

it really doesn't matter what the other 3 franchises do because we're better than last season ... at least I think we are ... aren't we?

the only question is will it take 8 or 9 wins (or more) to win the NFC East in 2016

there's really no doubt that we'll win more than 6 games .... right?

That's awesome, man. The guy who wrote that is smart af.

That tie is so weird. It sucks, but its also better than a loss.

Hard to keep everything in perspective like this when you're watching the games each week, but it helps.
