Roster moves... and IR

Post by cowboykillerzRGiii »

http://redskinswire.usatoday.com/2016/1 ... ve-roster/

Haven't seen or heard anything about these moves until just now..

What freaked me out was a headline: "Redskins without 2 of their best blockers vs Vikings"

Or something of that nature.. had me a little worried, Knowing Trent was out but freaking out that we lost another lineman- we didn't so that's a relief.

Apparently Niles Paul has been placed on IR for tearing his labrum... news to me!. Then we picked up a young 2013 3rd round D lineman (to me that's as good or better then had we drafted one in the 3rd this year; having experience but still young makes it a solid puck up), which of course is the biggest weakness on the entire team... then we also added a rookie db to the practice squad.

Both of these guys are cheap additions, young, and hopefully can contribute. I know everyone wanted the Dline addressed in this year's draft, but getting a three year vet who has already faced the learning curve and had a little bit of success in his limited role in Seattle is about the best we could hope for. Itd be silly to think he's going to be an all pro, but if he can just be solid and another rotational player on that line we will be lucky to have found him after skipping the position via the draft. There's also hope he can contribute on special teams... but like I said if he can contribute at all and isn't terrible, maybe we coach him up and land a solid third rounder lineman.

I'm sure I'm over analyzing this not even news worthy signing... just glad to see a low round dlineman added to the roster- FINALLY.

Apparently before injuring his hamstring in the final preseason game Hill was predicted to be the starter in Seattle.. hopefully he is healthy and has a chip on his shoulder. Definitely looks like he can be a force up front!!

I think I remember reading that Jordan Hill was actually playing very well for the Seahawks before he was injured. Yeah:

He’s appeared in 27 games over the last three seasons with the Seahawks after being a third round pick in 2013.

Hill was seemingly having a breakout season in 2014. He had 4.5 sacks in the final five games of the season as an interior pass rusher for Seattle. However, he sustained a calf injury in the bye week before Seattle’s first playoff game and was placed on injured reserve.

Lord knows we need help on the d-line, let's hope this young guy can help.

The Colts are the 31st ranked def against the pass right now. Kinda hard to get excited about signing one of their practice squad DBs. lol.

I have a feeling we've probably seen the last of Niles Paul in a Redskins uniform.

Right you are on all accounts... I'm not expecting the db to get called up, all enthusiasm was for Hill... read the same 5 game beasting streak. Let's hope the injuries are behind him though.

I wonder if he was a Scotty Mc draftee? 2013 ...
