Please cut Ryan Grant

Post by mastdark81 »

I don't think this guy has had 1 good game since he has been on the team. I haven't seen the improvement, nor the value this guy brings to the team.

Please cut your ties, especially when Doctson becomes healthy.

I'm not usually so reactionary about players and coaches. But it seems like every time I hear his name he's dropping the damn ball. 2 receptions on 6 targets this year?

Maybe he's an insanely good special teams guy or something?

I concur.

Also relegate Matt Jones to the 3rd string.

I made this same comment to the DET fan I was watching the game with. He is just not an asset to the team. I would prefer to see Niles Paul out there or even Ross get the nod over Grant. Grant showed some promise 3-4 years ago, but hasn't progressed. He doesn't appear confident either.

He did have a good play defending an INT --- but I have one question/point regarding that play. The play appeared to be very similar to the one run against PHI last week which resulted in the 35+ gain to Davis (where Cousins releases the ball before Davis even makes the up-field cut). And if that is the case (which it may not have been), Grant was out of position anyway.

Other than that he had a drop and costly penalty in just 20 plays. And why grant had a higher snap count than Paul is beyond me. I do think that it has to do with the fact Cousins believes in Grant, but I am not sure whether that is correct or just something announcers say.

But honestly, Grant is the least of our worries. Coming out of that game, I saw Jones' fumbling issue as the most significant issue. He moves the ball out of position when "reaching" for yards after contact. It's a HUGE issue. There also seemed to be disconnect with the OL. OL, however, is so difficult in that there is always injures (as it is the most injured position in the NFL) and it is so important that OL units understand eachother. Regardless, DET's DL was in Cousins' face most of the game.

I suspect Grant will be out once Doctson is back, but that is a HUGE ???. Doctson, up to this point, has proven to be inconsistent and often-injured. I don't anticipate seeing him play this season and whether he will ever contribute in any capacity is still debateable.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

This, I'm done with Matt jones. That 1 fumble made the difference in the game, no one even touched the ball, it just fell out. Hope we see a big increase in work from Kelly next week

I think we all can agree that he brings no value you to the team. If there is someone on this board think otherwise please explain! Thank you

I've wonder about Grant for a while. Now, let this sink in... The team had Terrell Prior in for a tryout but didn't sign him because they had guys like....Ryan Grant. That was a miss. It happens. Would've been nice had Grant shown he was worth the faith put in him. Going forward, I hope he does.

Wasn't Pryor being looked at as a b and not a wr at that time though?

I thought he played well today - not sure they're cutting him anytime soon

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Didn't see him drop any balls yesterday! On the downside, I'm assuming he was on special teams when we gave up that 65 yard kickoff return.

He laid a really nice block on a safety after a Garcon catch.

I should be surprised that the coaches are keeping a player that doesn't help the team and actually is hurting the team ...

then again, maybe the coaches don't really know that ...
