You can't watch a game like that!!!!!!

I would prefer to watch a game from a sports bar or at home rather then watch it from those seats. I thought the column just took up one end zone, but thats right in the middle of the field.

That is just freaking horrible!!!!!

Good Luck on getting it worked out!!!!!

Thats rediculous. We saw that offer about moving to the lower bowl for this season with obstructed views for 20 bucks more then the upper deck. Glad we didn't take them. Good luck in your pursuit of real seats, for them making you pay 69 bucks a ticket they should move you down onto the field.

It must be a DNS issue. I'm going to PM you to get to the bottom of why you can't view the site. I want you to try another page on the same server.

yep, that's pretty crappy seats...i have much better seats, and i live in san diego. directtv. i think the post should be forced to give up their seats. especially if their sending people that aren't even redskin fans to the game. and the redskins front offices should have no problem taking those seats away from the post and give them to the fans, since the post seems so eager to bash them for selling those seats.

geez, i think i'd rather be at a charger game then sit in those seats. hope it all gets worked out for you

THAT IS HORRRRRRRRRIBLE!!!!!!!!!

mdl70,

Bring some mirrors and duct tape...if you use the correct angles you can position the mirrors to go around the pillar and reflect the entire field back to you....you just might end up with the Best Seats in the House.

....maybe not...but worth a try.

The good news is you can see the Redskins play in the redzone during 1 half of the game...wait..thats not good.
I am going to go drink a bubbly bur for ya...shame on the Redskins.

You and your pops will laugh about this 10 years from now.

If Ted Leonsis owned the Redskins he would personally invite you to spend the opening game with him in the owners box.

But, like I said, think duct tape and mirrors...duct tape and mirrors.

You have to also love the fact that the television monitors they so graciously provide for the "limited view" seats shows the action from opposite vantage point. So, when on the small part of the field you can see is going left-to-right, the monitor is going right-to-left! (At least some of the time.)

Good point...they should have closed circuit cameras from those areas of the field to show the fan "what they should be seeing".

Those are really small TV's anyway. Someone really messed up. This is just like Snyder charging the fans for practice in 2000....total PR disaster that is not worth the revenue generated.

Agreed. Leonsis is a great owner and will do whatever he can to make the fans happy (with the exception of trading Bondra). Something Snyder hasn't picked up on yet.

The more I think about this, I'm not sure that I don't agree with the Skins.

Why would you purchase tickets that were advertised as obstructed view without going to the stadium to see them with your own eyes? And if the Skins said you couldn't do that, then why buy them? Why base such an important decision on what some salesperson tells you?

I know several season ticket holders who were contacted about "upgrading" to these seats and they all say that they were given pictures and the opportunity to see the seats in-person. They also say that it was obvious from the pictures that some of the seats would be directly behind the pillars.

If you buy those tickets on blind faith, then you run the risk of getting screwed.

Also, it would be nice if next year the Skins reduced the Post's ticket hold to the maximum allowed. It's not like the Post pays any more for those tickets than regular season ticket holders would, and hopefully it would result in 190+ more REDSKINS fans.

Looks like you need to buy some of those X-Ray specs you see in the back of comic books.

Well, at the time we didn't think they would flat-out lie to us. They promised one thing, deliverd another We're now older and wiser.

I know several season ticket holders who were contacted about "upgrading" to these seats and they all say that they were given pictures and the opportunity to see the seats in-person. They also say that it was obvious from the pictures that some of the seats would be directly behind the pillars.

The pictures are very different than was was promised. The picture showed the view from one seat. There were thousands of seats in that area. Again, we were under the assumption the ticket office was being direct and straightforward with us.

If you buy those tickets on blind faith, then you run the risk of getting screwed.

If they had told us there was a chance we would be behind a pillar we wouldn't have done it. They never said that. The gave us an exact description of what our view was supposed to be. Blind faith would have been if the ticket office stated "there's a slight chance you could end up behind a column." That would have been a deal-breaker right there.

Also, it would be nice if next year the Skins reduced the Post's ticket hold to the maximum allowed. It's not like the Post pays any more for those tickets than regular season ticket holders would, and hopefully it would result in 190+ more REDSKINS fans.

I'm all for that! I'll trade our seats for two of the Post's seats for a season. :)

I'm just saying, you should be sceptical when a salesperson who probably has never been in the stadium tells you what the view would be. The "blind faith" is that you are relying on that salesperson to know what they're talking about. Nothing is gauranteed unless you see it in person.

I'm not saying that you should expect them to flat out lie to you -- but they did say that it was an obstructed view seat. The degree of obstruction for a particular seat can only be confirmed if you sit in the seat. You didn't do that, so the risk falls on you.

You are exactly right. We were under the assumption that they did know what they were selling. I guess they didn't. :)

Right. We did purchase these seats with full knowledge we would be in an obstructed view section. The obstruction was only supposed to be a small corner of the far endzone/visitors tunnel and we would be able to see the rest of the field just fine. To get down into the lower bowl and get priority to relocate, that seemed like an acceptable situation. We asked twice if we could look at the seats before purchase and were told we couldn't. The trust then came down to the ticket agent wich now seems to have been a bad decision.

Also, you have to admit, the Skins' response to the Post was great. To call them out on their 200 season tickets is brilliant.

Yeah it was. But then again...didn't the Redskins sell them all 200 seats to the same account to begin with?

When I received the pitch for the new seats(in early May), I was told they had not been constructed yet. So no in person preview was possible at that time.

Also, the primary hook was---if you are anywhere in the lower bowl, you have priority over anyone in the upper bowl to upgrade to better lower level seats. Period.
