Here comes the cousins talk.
Some reports already coming up that some "players in the locker room" are tired of cousins, saying he's indecisive and erratic.
Admittedly he hasn't performed like someone looking for a big 5 year deal so far... but we also passed over 2x more than we ran for both weeks, and our defense is not stopping the run, or #1 receivers, and is unable to get off the field. We have kirk cousins, not drew breese, not Peyton manning, not Tom Brady... but it seems like that level of expectation and scrutiny will be starting to show its head this week.

It's well-earned scrutiny. He cost us 3 scores because of his bad passing today.
Re: Here comes the cousins talk.
Our QB is Cousins, not Brady, Manning, 'Burger, etc. We can't lean on the passing game while having no defense and expect great things.

Sounded like bad play-calling, and maybe an offensive strategy founded on short passes. Ought to lean on the run --"smash-mouth football" -- I think.

Should he be expected to hit wide open receivers on post patterns?
Thanks for clarifying that our QB is none of those other guys. I don't think anyone was confused about that, but maybe?
Re: Here comes the cousins talk.
going into this season we knew the defense would not be very good but we also knew that Cousins was very motivated to get a huge contract and that he had a lot of weapons and a line that while not great in the run game would give him time to rack up points
Cousins is showing that he's not a very good QB and he will not be our starting QB for much longer if he continues to play like this

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Well, why wouldn't there be talk? He's sucked the first 2 weeks.
I just hope this motivates him to right the ship.

The facts always come to light. Jay Gruden and his Arena League Offense won't work in the NFL. Our DC is a joke, he is worse than Jim Haslett. Finally Kirk Cousins isn't the answer and never was.
Imagine if Bill Belichick had this roster. Imagine what a real coaching staff could do. We won the division last year out of luck nothing more. Jay and Kirk will never beat a good team and more than likely will continue to lose against bad teams.

This whole team stinks, not just Cousins...

Cousins isn't a starter in this league. This team would be totally different if Bill Belichick was the HC. This team is bad cause the HC is bad. #FACT
Re: Here comes the cousins talk.
We should have a top 5 pick this yr in the draft so maybe we'll have a shot at the top 2 Qb's coming out...or maybe Scott M will draft another guard with the top 5 pick.

I agree but I think most fans expect us to be scoring points at least like we were the second half of the season last year. I personally thought the games would be fun to watch yet high scoring on both sides.
We will eventually get there I believe as far as the offense but it is frustrating that we start off slow each year and pamper these guys in the preseason.
Re: Here comes the cousins talk.
this franchise has to show that players and coaches are accountable for bad play - I'm looking forward to seeing that happen and soon
it looks very much like we'll be playing the Browns without a win and the Browns at one time had the Ravens down 20-2 yesterday
Somebody needs to do something to make sure the idiot owner doesn't get involved again ....
I'm not sure that Cousins is as bad as he's looked but are we just going to keep playing him and just wait and hope he wakes up - sit him for a series or 2, just like they did with Breeland, that will get his attention real quick

Re: Here comes the cousins talk.
Cousins have been bad. I think folks have to remember he really didn't play in the preseason to work out the kinks. I have no clue why we do this over and over again each year with Gruden. I think he's a decent quarterback just a mental case! Remember he's the same guy that had to take confidence classes as a grown man. So you going to have times where he is off and he's his worst enemy. But you will have times where he's on and slinging it all over the place. He's not confident now and you can see it. This is not on Gruden nor no one else fault and he will have to get up out of the slump.

If Cousins has another bad game in NY he will have plenty of time to go find out how to rebuild your confidence

Finally someone calls out SM. A guard at No.5. Crazy. You can't forget they drafted him to play right tackle and he lost the job to Moses. Oh well, SM can do no wrong.
Changing the ways of Today (salary cap) will allow us to celebrate championships in the Future.

To be honest the only thing that SM has actually done since being here is get caught screwing that reporter. Looks like RGIII learned from SM huh??

I agree that Cousins has been below average and an issue, but you can't take one play and put it in a vacuum. Even the Brady/Manning/Brees guys have missed open WRs on an occasion. I am far more concerned with the INTs and him missing guys than I am with him missing Crowder on that play.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.
Re: Here comes the cousins talk.
Cousins does not deserve to be compared to good or great QBs - he's shown that he's a terrible QB so far this season
EVERYONE needs to do their jobs better but Cousins needs to really elevate his game - this is a putrid passing offense - 1 TD 3 INTs
OMG - the excuses - Cousins needs to suck it up or sit down - nobody that bad should be starting

SORRY - that is just stupid - Cousins has been terrible - 1 TD and 3 INTs
If Cousins does not come out and start lighting it up against a very good giants defense this Sunday Gruden should just sit him - we're going to have a lot of trouble winning this game with Eli throwing to Cruz and Beckham - our defense is not expected to be very good but our offense is mean't to be dynamite with Cousins (showing that he's a good/great QB and hoping to get a $20M+ contract) throwing to Jackson, Garcon, Crowder, Davis, Doctson and the unstoppable Reed
1 TD in 2 games and 3 INTs

Of course Fat Gruden is supporting Kirk. He hitched his wagon to Kirk and Kirk is a weak armed check down pick machine. It shows how bad Kirk is and how outmatched Jay Gruden's teams constantly are.
Get rid of them both. The sooner the better.

1 TD in 2 games and 3 INTs- that puke defense is terrible ... below average, my ass
Gruden can't sit him. Gruden's job is on the line. Everyone knows he basically got lucky and backed into a playoff spot last year. His teams are undisciplined and cannot adjust to other teams moves despite the sick talent the Redskins have. The worst thing is a HC who cannot develop a QB in a QB-driven league. Gruden is fat. an idiot. and is not NFL HC material. period.

Get out of here with that "weak-armed" BS. Cousins overthrew Desean Jackson on a fly pattern.

His arm is weak- weak on talent. Doctson had to basically stop and wait for Cousins floating weak pass to get to him. But he does throw red zone picks with velocity so ill give you that.
Re: Here comes the cousins talk.
A lot of you guys solutions are the exact reason we are in the dumpster year after year. QB has a couple bad games and you want to pour on gasoline and light a match. Say you do that, then what, colt mccoy? He won't do any better, Sudfeld? Alright kid but considering him would be a joke. Force a 1st round pick into our system next year? How many times has that worked for us? Get a vet? Sorry but that has failed us every time too.
He deserves criticism sure, but you're telling me you would take Jay cutler, Brock osweiler, Blake bottles, case keenum, fitzpatrick, Gabbert... and likely a few others I would argue too. Qbs are a rare commodity, and ours at worst is servicable, at best is pretty good. If we want to talk QB, let's get the team to the point where it's a good QB away from making a super bowl run first... and we definitely aren't there yet.
