Who surprises and makes it this year?

Too early to know.

I'm thinking Perry Riley doesn't make the cut. Is that a surprise?

Reiter has been here a couple years now, if we don't see him in the next couple games then we'll see him for the final preseason as trading material. I sure wish we had settled the Center position, we might have to go shopping once other teams have pared down. Scott is unequaled at finding talent, Tress Way for example.
LeReibus might be on the fence too, he falls into the calculations for Center.

He's only been here for a year, drafted in the 7th last year. I'd expect to see him on the practice squad again.

I bet there's very little chance we trade Reiter — right now the Skins are the only ones who have a good feel for his value and potential.

Reports are that he's done well in camp, and Chris Cooley thought he had the best preseason game of anyone against the Falcons. With LeRiebus seemingly on his way out it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Reiter be our #2 center going into the year.

Not a bad list, but I think you're wrong on Paulsen. I don't see him making it this year.

Also you have Murphy taking two roster spots?

Houston Bates and/or Lynden Trail will make it.

I think you're mostly right. My exceptions:
- I don't see Golston getting cut. We'd see Iaonnidis to the practice squad before it came to that, I think.
- I suspect Paulsen will get cut and we use his spot for an extra lineman.
- I say Sudfeld doesn't make the final 53, is waived and put on the practice squad. Extra roster spot goes to, perhaps, a DB.
- Let's see how Lynden Trail does tonight. I've liked what we've seen of him and think he might be on the verge of making the team.
- Houston Bates is another that I think could crack the final 53. Maybe he takes one of the two spots you've assigned to Murphy.
- If Kelley steps up tonight the team might go with him over signing a free agent. Sending him to the PS couldn't hurt, though.

Yep. Can't say that he's been that impressive. I wonder if he even makes the practice squad at this point.

I had really high hopes for Marshall [-o< :(

If they don't get a FA, then put him in the practice squat. He's been okay

He was a high-risk, high-reward pick. Those don't often work out. :|

Just took him off. I forgot the punter, kicker, and snapper. Makes it tough now.

I keep seeing everyone assuming that we HAVE to keep Nate Sudfeld. I'm just not sure I believe that. There are going to be other quality, more experienced guys hitting the waiver wire soon. Mark Sanchez, for example. Zach Mettenberger was just out there. I'm not sure I believe that other teams are going to be fighting to stick OUR 6th round, project QB on their 53 man roster.

Guess we'll see shortly.

I'm biased because I watched him in college and think he can become a pretty good qb but I can say that they obviously liked him to draft him, therefore you gotta be patient with a quarterback. To me you at least keep him til next year at this time before you make a sound judgement. He's young and year 2 you naturally see if there is a big jump or not.

But yes he doesn't really deserve to stay on the roster with the eye test thus far if it was any other position. I don't think he is a westcoast system guy and more of a 7 step drop passer. He had some good moments and alot of bad moments (in practice i'm hearing).

I disagree with you in picking up another veteran. I feel we need a young guy to develop as Colt McCoy is our veteran backup. We don't need 3 veterans.

At the end of the day of Sudfeld doesn't make roster I feel they should definitely sign him to the practice squad.

Don't think riggo was saying WE sign another vet and rock 3 vets on the roster... but that with all the other more experienced qbs about to hit the market, stashing a project qb sixth rounder on the practice squad should be doable- meaning he isn't claimed by another team out from under us.

Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying. I don't really have an opinion one way or the other on Sudfeld. Only that I think we could put him on the practice squad this year. I just don't see other teams swooping in to grab a #3 QB off waivers before that.
