Three predictions for the 2016 season

Post by riggofan »

Aside from W-L record, I'm curious to hear what you guys see happening in the season ahead? Here are my three:

1) By week 4, everyone around the league concedes that we're a top 5 offense. ESPN catches on to it around week 8.

2) Josh Norman is solid and competent, but fans are disappointed to realize he is not Darrelle Revis. Becomes a goat for fans as the secondary struggles to compensate for our defensive line.

3) Defensive line - ranked 26th against the run last year - ranks 30th against the run in 2016.

What you got?

1. Redskins ST are among league’s best.
2. RG starts hot, while Cousins doesn't...fueling the RG crowd...but by seasons end all is right.
3. Joe Jacoby is elected to Pro Football Hall of Fame!!!

1) Cousins does not improve dramatically but the rushing game does.
2) The passing defense improves but the rushing defense takes a step back.
3) Su'a Cravens contends for Defensive Rookie Of The Year.

1 Cousins shows that he's just a good NFL QB
2 The defense against the run is a problem
3 The offensive line is clearly better
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I see many of us are pessimistic about stopping the run this year. Somebody give me some hope on that front! What's it going to take given the guys we have???

Ioannidis to be a 1st round talent. A team to cut a true nose tackle. Murphy to prove he isn't useless. Paea to stay healthy. The inside linebackers to tackle.

1 crazyhorse1 will drop in to make a point and then not be heard from for another year.

2 A troll will light up the boards until we finally ignore him or he crosses "the line."

3 Phil Simms will say something like "When things go bad, it's not going to look good."

I have many more.

I'm hoping that these guys knew what they were doing when they let Pot Roast go ... but it does not look good

I'll predict that Phil Simms will call the RedSkins, 'The RedSkins'; Cousins can't 'dramatically' improve, he already has; and who is 'RG?'

1. 5 Year 90M Cousins deal is done by 7/15 deadline

2. Skins passing offense picks up where it left off strong.

3. Rushing offense is somewhat improved as is the passing defense but rush defense still weak.

1. Cousins will keep improving as long as O-line holds up well
2. Joe Barry begins to come under fire for poor coaching
3. Rushing attack still weak

1 Cravens will become an every- down player.

2 Barry will be recognized as a good teacher, schemer, and motivator.

3 Scot will sign an extension.

1 We will have a top 10 passing offense.

2 We will be bottom 5 at both running and stopping the run.

3 Our pass defense will be top half of the league.

-The Giants will be our biggest threat/rival for the division title.
-We will have a relatively quiet season nationally, no matter what our record.
-Cousins will finish in the top 10 again, and people will continue to move the goalposts in an effort to keep doubting.

I'm going to predict that in spite of all the hand wringing, our rushing game is improved from last year.

Eagles have a better record than Washington.
Cousins get's hurt and is put on IR.
Gruden get's fired.

Interesting, and I love the optimism going into week 1. But I can't put much stock in a guy who struggles this much with apostrophes.

Go bold or go home, I always say. (OK, not really, but here goes nothing.)

1) Kirk Cousins will break the 5,000 yards and 35 Touchdowns marks this season.

2) Rob Kelley will rush for 1,000+ yards this season.

3) Sua Cravens will be in the discussion for the DROY award.

I hate to say it, but I'm sticking by my earlier prediction that our run defense is going to be exceptionally woeful and our achilles heel. Hopefully B&GF is right and the offense is so good, the defensive line has little work to do.
