Jones & Cowboys draft RB Elliott - another stupid mistake

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Jones & Cowboys draft RB Elliott - another stupid mistake

Post by SkinsJock »

The Cowboys made a big mistake taking Elliott - the top 2 players on defense (and basically the draft) were Joey Bosa and Jalen Ramsey

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-foo ... len-ramsey

Taking Elliott this high up in the draft, does not make a lot of sense - unless you dislike the pukes

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I think the same thing. McFadden was 4th rushing in the NFL last year and didn't even start the whole year. You can plug and play alot of rbs plus I don't really think Elliott is a once every 10 year rb.

Jalen Ramsey should have been their pick and I"m so happy they didn't select him.

Totally foolish pick, and I loved every second of it. Really loved the way their war room was glad-handing everyone on their great pick, too. ROTFALMAO

We have no way of knowing yet whether or not the pick was a poor decision but we do know we have our own concerns about stopping the run so with that thought in mind I'll hold reservation until after we play each other.

Don't get me wrong. I would love to think Dallas did what Dallas always does, draft a luxury pick who turns out to be a bust.

But I don't like it when the talking heads evaluate the Skins picks five minutes after the draft and it's hypocritical to do it to another player because he was drafted by another team. Even if that team is the Cowboys.

Nah, #4 is too high to draft any RB in this day and age. We can call it right now.

I'll concede it's not a move most GMs would make in today's passing league. No argument there. And that Elliott will have to be in the top five at his position to justify the pick. Highly unlikely. 8-[

OTOH, I'm sure this selection has resulted in some very disturbing dreams as Jerruh closes his eyes at night. :puke:

In terms of the future when Morris and Mcfadden are off playing elsewhere Elliott will
be 1 piece in place for them, where I am concerned? is the lack of concern over the
health of Romo. who nobody gives a damn about, considering that he has a son I am
sure he'd like to run around the yard and play ball with. But will have a hell of a time
doing that if he continues to get hit the way he does, This is why I wanted a QB drafted
at # 4 you may think that is a bit of a reach

I however think the sooner Dallas begins the process of finding the future at QB the
sooner Romo can begin to fade out leaving the game on a good note, That however
did not happen and now all we are left is seeing Romo buried once and for all not
because some idiot fan base wants to claim their team proudly took him out once
and for all, NO we can chalk up another victim thanks to an Arkansas a-hole who
has no other purpose in life but to rob the innocent of their money because their
stupidity refuses to say NO to his freak show

What in the hell are you on about? Elliott probably still would have been available in the 2nd round. Maybe the 3rd. Running backs just aren't worth a 1st round pick in today's passing NFL. So, if the plan is to have him do nothing behind Morris and McFadden for even this season it was a wasted draft pick. Smart teams don't piss away a 1st round pick on a player to have him sit on the bench. That might be a luxury a 14 win team can afford. Not the Dallas Cowboys. Again, he needs to be a top five back this year to justify that pick.

You clearly weren't paying attention. Ezekiel Elliott was gonna be a top-10 pick no matter what.

You'll see how bad a pick it was when we're mowing you over for years to come. Lol @ Skins fans pretending to be happy about a "bad" Cowboys pick. I'll be bumping this thread for years.

He'd have to be a total bust not to be able to run behind the Pies' line. Putting up a 1000 yard season, still wouldn't make the pick any less foolish. No RB is worth the #4 pick in today's NFL. And you won't be bumping squat, because the Pies season will be another huge disappointment to Jeruh's kids, and you won't be coming here after about week 4, just like last season.

PS You misspelled Bidet.

I was paying attention. There wasn't another running back drafted until Derrick Henry at #45. And then not another one until Kenyan Drake at #73. Dallas could have traded back into the 2nd round and still drafted Elliott. Unless some GM honestly though Elliott was the 4th best player in that draft in which case he should be fired immediately. The claim that "Elliott was going to be a top ten pick no matter what" is not credible. It's from mock drafts or from the pundits who can afford to be wrong like Schefter, McShay, and Mayock.

Also, what Deadskins said ...

1: No one doubts that Elliot will be a force. He is an exceptional running back talent. Problem is YOU aren't paying attention.
-----A: Puke O-line makes any competent RB a weapon. RB was not a position that demanded addressing, ESPECIALLY at 4.
-----B: only an amateur applauds the pick of Elliott in this position... as dominant as he is, the Pukes holes screamed for something else. They grab a dominant linebacker WHO MAY NEVER PLAY ANOTHER GAME with their second pick (another luxury selection made only by a 14 win team)... STUPID!!! Are you kidding??? They need help NOW! You hire Snyder as your GM?
2: Pukes are desperate for defensive help. The Cowboys needed to parlay this pick into multiple picks in order to address this need. Scoring 30 points a game is really of little use when opponents are scoring 35. Ellliot does nothing to fix this. If they really wanted Elliott, he would still have been available at 15 (though any intelligent draft manager goes Defensive Line for the Cowboys). Trade back, grab picks, fix defensive holes.
3: Redskins (as many teams) will be scoring 35 points/game against Pukes. Redskins new DB strength will piss off Dallas receivers. Elliott cannot carry the team.

We applaud the continued idiocy of Jerruh. Clearly, he is making selections for his fantasy team, not to win games... that does not mean we don't respect Elliott. He will get his yards, but will affect the outcome of very few games. Good luck! LOL

Writing checks your mouth can't cash - now let's talk reality not fiction

please tell me who Dallas has should Romo once again end up MIA for another season?
then I want you to explain the state of the defense who now no longer have Hardy, 2 ends on a
4 game suspension, just Lee at LB NO secondary or even special teams kick returners?
You're making it easy for them! Elliot's only chance to "mow" over them is if Romo stays alive
in 2016 and I don't see it happening to be quite honest, As for the future? IF Elliot is the last man
standing in Dallas he'd be ready to face a potential 5-11 or worse future Jerruh only knows how to
scramble for winning when someone else sets it up for him. I doubt anyone will come in and try and do what
Parcells did. Elliot in a few years IMO will be playing elsewhere and like Ware will get his ring while all
we get is the *sh$t* end of the stick as usual - the end

What a loser site.

Here's their number one thread right now:

Why the Cowboys' Offensive Line is so dominant (and why taking Elliott makes sense)...

While I believe Elliot is a good player...I am sooo happy they didn't get Ramsey. That guy will be a dominant player in the NFL. The 'boys could have had Ramsey at 4, and given in and given away their 3rd rounder (NOT their 4th) and got Paxton Lynch..

A dominant DB and a possible future replacement for Romo...

Thank God their Owner is making their Player Personnel decisions! Us Skins fans know what happens when the owner is doing GM stuff...
