Rumor Mill: Running Backs

Post by Burgundy&GoldForever »

It's being reported the Redskins have been in contact with Arian Foster. If true, it does not speak well for their actual confidence level in Matt Jones. Foster is unlikely to accept a backup role.

Let's hope that is a rumor because Foster is horrible. I have been watching him down in HOU for too long and he adds no value. If Scot signed him, I'd be more worried that he's losing his edge has a talent evaluator more than having an overpaid, over the hill, media attention seeker on our team.

I agree that Jones shouldn't be counted on as a everydown RB, but Foster is horrible.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Unlikely to accept a backup role? Are we talking about the 30 year old RB coming off a ruptured achilles? Its May 16th and the guy is still a free agent.

Keeping in mind this is all speculation at this point I'd venture the closer it gets to training camps the more likely any free agent is to accept a backup role.

Yep. The Redskins have all the chips. Forget demanding to be a starter, Foster will be lucky to play in the NFL this year at all.
