Scouts, inc. rating has Redskins at #8 in the NFL
http://proxy.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1858398
I can't post the article, because it is part of ESPN's Insider package (which you can get for free for 30 days), but Scouts, inc. rates all the teams 1-32 in the following categories: QB, RB, WR, OL, DL, LB, DB, and ST. The 'Skins scored an overall 100 to rank 8th in the NFL and #1 in the NFC East. The Pats are #1 overall with a 58 score. The Ravens are #2 at 80, and we only trail #5 Indy (94), by 6 points. The rest of the division stacks up as Eagles (106 #12), Cowboys (165 #25), and Giants (186 #30).

Same ole two step, every year the skins are rated rather high. Just makes the tumble down that much farther.

So the Pukes don't have as far to fall this year... should save some skinned knees in Texas
I reiterate what I have said all along - I don't care what the polls say - I will be happy with 8-8 or 9-7 and large improvement on the penalties and turnovers...
I will be more than happy to eat crow if they go beyond that to 10-6 or more and the playoffs.

Looking at the schedule: I think it pans out this way:
Gibbs will beat the 6 teams we should beat (Giants twice, Browns, Bears, Lions, and 49ers) and split with the rest. This gives us an 11-5 season. I'm very confident that we are vastly superior to the 'Pies, but we always seem to play down to their level so I won't guarantee two victories there.

I agree with this assessment. An 8-8 season as long as we play hard and like a team would make me happy. Anything better than that is icing on the cake. Gibbs will turn things around but sometimes these things take time and patience.
The opinion of 10,000 men is of no value if none of them know anything about the subject.

the Iggles have injury problems of a looming nature, and TO may become the cancer we all hope he does...
I say split with them
Tuna and Joe are always good for a split between them
We may beat the Giants twice, but Coughlin is no slouch... I still say split
3-3 but not with two losses to the little boys

Get swept by the Eagles.
I don't really see the eagles doing much this year. They've been hot when the rest of the division has been cold. Thay have two up and coming teams in the Skins and Boys that won't fold easily like before. I dont see Kearse making it through the entire year.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

And candy might fly out of my butt, but I wouldn't count on it.
If so, I ain't eating any chocolate.

I think 3-3 is attainable, because Coach Gibbs always splits with the boys, and we always played hard against Parcells' Giants and the Eagles. I do wih we could somehow bring the Cardinals back.

Candy is going to fly out of your butt? euw.
I would hate to think of the trauma that is going to cause for those children at the birthday party pinata boy ::Grin::
How you doin GF?
I figured I would get a reply from you on that one
TO has a mouth, and he knows how to use it only slightly better than he catches the ball. That is the problem he has had.
Still - that aside - have you seen the injury list on ESPN? Only 15 players without including your RB.
Ouch.
Only three are probable, most are out. Not doubtful, questionable or probable. Out. Usually indicative of a more serious problem.
6 knees, 1 leg, 1 quadricep, 3 hammies...
you will now have 3 on IR including your sack leader from last year and the RB you were counting on for some good production.
TO might make up for something, but all that? And if he doesn't get thrown to enough by HIS standards? ::grin::

I was hyped to read that article this morning. Doesn't mean anything of course, but always happy to see the skins getting some respect.
It seems like Williams' defense has the potential to make a real difference this season. They've looked tough in pre-season, and in this ranking they definitely affected the team's standing.

I liked the theory that Williams had - where Gibbs wanted to plain jane the offense - so as not to show Tampa anything but Williams wanted to throw everything at Miami to over load the Tampa offensive line when it came to studying the defensive scheme/blitz packages...
He wants them to spread themselves thin trying to compensate and study and practice against a huge number of plays/stunts/blitzes

I'm just peachy. Got my site redone and moved to a new server last week.

No, that's the problem the media tells people that he is. His problem has been Jeff Garthia posing as an NFL quarterback. Don't believe me? Ask his old offensive coordinator. - "Tim is more patient, whereas Jeff had too much of a case of happy feet. He was ready to run as soon as he got pressure. Tim will stay more relaxed and will go through his progressions before he panics. Tim will look to that third or fourth receiver."

And all will be ready for the season opener.

We had a sack leader last year? With guys like Hollis Thomas, McDougle, and Burgess coming back from injuries the d-line should be much better off than last year. Kalu was going to be downgraded back to the role that suits him best - situational pass rusher.

TO's going to get the ball plenty. People don't seem to understand that the reason the ball was spread around so much in previous years is because the starting receivers were awful. Now only one of the starting receivers is awful.

I got your number. I steal your thunder. I got your mother's maiden name tattooed on my arm.

you hope they'll all be ready...
Kalu might have had to fill back in the way your guys are going down.... and now he won't be there...
I feel bad for any injured player... just I feel better for my team ::grin::
Glad to hear you got the sick 'puter back up...
Now all I have to do is get back on track
