Well... Scot did say he was going to make sure Cousins had some weapons...

People will complain that this wasn't DL, but be patient. Deep draft for DL. BPA and planning for the future. No complaints from me.

Josh Doctson. Slight surprise. Would have preferred Laquan Treadwell at WR, but in Scot we trust.

Fits well into a WCO, will complement Reed, and will improve our performance in the Red Zone.

Surprised by this pick but Garçon and Jackson are getting older. Cousins has to like this!

Yeah I had Treadwell as my "sleeper" pick for us in the first round. Thought he was the better WR, but I definitely trust that Scot knows better than I. Not really surprised that we went WR in the first round.

I'll be curious to dig into the difference between those two guys. Both are 6-2 but Treadwell is like 20 lbs heavier. Assuming Doctson is the speedier guy?

According to Charlie Casserly, Doctson runs a 4.50 but plays at a 4.55 and is a 2nd round value. In Scot I trust.

Unless there's a severe run on DL, might get good value next round too.

I like the Doctson pick, finally have a big receiver with elite hands

Yeah I don't know about that. Doctson has been pretty consistently rated one of the top 3 WRs for months. Kiper had him rated the top WR in the draft and #11 in the top overall prospects.

"11. Josh Doctson, WR, TCU

A gifted pass-catcher, Doctson makes difficult catches look routine and is a wizard when it comes to creating space against tight coverage and snatching the ball in tight space when the coverage is good. He makes plays after the catch and is a diligent worker."

I'm really amazed that we're at #26 right now and DT position has barely been touched yet.

Totally agree man. Only one off the board so far. I can list four or five guys that were being touted as first round picks who are still on the board.

Wanted DL or OL. However we have needed a big WR since Art Monk retired. Wow he's 6"4"!

I think Roberts is definitely gone post June 1. Either Jackson or Garcon will not be re-signed .

Roberts has been done for a while, maybe retained for trade bait?

Man, we got a STEAL!! Nobody else in the league drafted defensive line until the very end. So all the projected 1st rounders, are now in the 2nd round. And whoever was in the 2nd, will now be taken in the 3rd. We're going to get huge value in this draft!!

Both Garcon and Jackson could be released next year, this helps remedy that issue.

I know nothing about Doctson, and my first reaction was 'really, WR?'.

But then I realized that next year we could lose Garcon and Jackson, so this pick makes a ton of sense.

Don't think it had anything to do with Jackson or Garcon, he was the best player on the board for the Skins and they took him. This is what a GM who takes BPA looks like...It's refreshing to see. The Cowboys pick was interesting two great players there when they picked, even though they need D they took a RB...would love to know who made that pick for them?

I agree that Scot went BPA. However, I think the future state of the team is part of his equation and made this decision a no-brainer.

In regards to Dallas, that offense stalled hard when Romo went down. Alfred will be consistent and available but he doesn't scare anyone. He is not and has never been a threat to break a long run. This kid will bring a dynamic to that run game that they lost a season ago.

Its pretty amazing to look at those guys who are available going into the 2d round tonight. Its a long list of players who were expected to go in the first round: Myles Jack, Billings, Reed, Robinson, Ragland, etc; If you also take into account that a couple teams are still going to have to take QBs this round, I think we're in great shape to still get quality DL help if Scot likes a player when we get there.
