Can the CAPS win tonight?
I truly hope so. I've only been a fan for a few years, but the post season has been miserable. We need Ovie to step up and prove that he is a beast to be reckoned with!

meh...
It's the postseason... and it's the Caps.
Hockey season is always hard on the die hards. Much easier for those of us who see the Caps as our pathetic mascot. Kind of like being a Mets fan in the 60's. Gotta love 'em... but, make sure your heart is kept in a vault. That way, they can never break it.

Re: Can the CAPS win tonight?
The Caps are having an incredible season ...
Even though they lost their most recent game, a 4-3 decision against the Montreal Canadiens, they are still 27-5-2 over their past 34 games thanks in large part to their offense which is still tops in the league.
Alex Ovechkin looks like he is headed for another goal scoring crown, while Evgeny Kuznetsov remains one of the top-five scorers in the NHL.
With a win on Friday night, the Capitals will become just the second team in NHL history to win 45 of their first 60 games, joining only the 1995-96 Detroit Red Wings.
They should be able to do that against a Minnesota Wild team that just played the night before.
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
Re: Can the CAPS win tonight?
Caps have 103 points. Next team, Dallas, I think, has about 90. Mind-boggling. I think they lead the NHL in one-goal-games they've won.

Don't worry, the crash is coming. We call it... "post-season"...welch wrote:Caps have 103 points. Next team, Dallas, I think, has about 90. Mind-boggling. I think they lead the NHL in one-goal-games they've won.
I cannot be disappointed.

My son, Redskin Dan v1978, has already written me: Caps just clinched a playoff spot. Now it's on to a 3 - 1 lead in games and crunch...but it's still good.
I think: Caps are bound to do well some season, so why not now?

ummm... because they're the Caps, and it's the post-season?
I really want to be wrong... but...

I really want to be wrong... but...I imagine they will keep to tradition.
Dan and I also want to be wrong. The last few games are a worry, though. But the Caps have some layers who've "been there before".
Here's hoping!
Re: Can the CAPS win tonight?
This year, the Caps can win it all, as long as they don't have to play the Penguins or the Rangers in the playoffs

Fixed it. They have been able to "win it all" on several occasions... and probably would have, if it hadn't been for the playoffs.

the Caps are winners when it really counts - the playoffs just get in the way of all that

Re: Can the CAPS win tonight?
that was a very good performance especially after a major tribute to Ed Snider before the game and then a Flyers goal after 57 seconds
this is a really good team with a lot of guys playing very well together and a stunning goalie
