Rumor around the league is that a Redskins- Josh Norman deal could be done by end of business Friday. And it'll be a big $ one. @NFLonFOX

Last time a player like @J_No24 Josh Norman became available, DeSean Jackson #Redskins were aggressive & signed the player

Per @JasonLaCanfora, #Redskins have made serious offer to Josh Norman, who has visit scheduled in DC, per @RapSheet.

Team is meeting with him tomorrow its down to the niners and skins for front runners. Talking 14-15 mil 5 years. (The money basically offered to Kirk)

How is it going to work financially? http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/redskinsb ... money-work

I have a feeling the skins will sign him tomorrow or Saturday. If they don't sign him then, he will be signed else where.

OK, I guess we'll have to see what the deal is. I guess my gut feeling was likely wrong.

These guys will figure out a way to get this done and having a guy like Norman against Dez and OBJ for 4 games will help a lot - this could be a major lift for our defense - we will now want to sign a long term deal with Cousins so his cap hit is lowered - hopefully he plays at that level

I have a lot more confidence with Scot and the FO guys figuring out how to make it all work than with you know who
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Haven't heard of Norman affecting Cousins' potential deal, but that's an interesting point.

I'm getting kind of stoked now. Kinda hope this works out. My thought is that if SM gives the thumbs up, Snyder will open up his checkbook for a big name, Super Bowl guy and Bruce Allen will make the deal work for the team.

#Redskins view Josh Norman as a fit for how Joe Barry uses CB's. They love ball skills & tackling ability, which translate in all schemes.

Report: Redskins have made Norman an offer
The Washington Post reports the Redskins have made an offer to free agent CB Josh Norman.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Norman is fielding five-year offers worth $14-$15 million annually. With an estimated $11.6 million in cap space, the Redskins would have to get slightly creative with the structure of the deal or do some mild cap gymnastics to fit that size contract under the salary limit, but the cap is not a real concern. The 49ers are thought to be the other team seriously involved, but CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports Washington's offer is "very strong." It is possible Norman signs during his Redskins visit on Friday.

There's no doubt that this guy's talent would benefit us enormously. We've got elite receivers in this division, so to finally have an elite CB would be a real game-changer for us, I think.

We got DeSean for a steal and with a team-friendly contract. I can only guess that Bruce and co. are going to pitch a contract to Norman that has huge numbers but which gives us an out two or three years into the deal if we need to take it.

I agree FFA - this franchise has come a long way in that we can look at this possibility and discuss the benefits without thinking that we're just bringing in another player that will help sell more seats

"Good price." Not going to happen. Why do you think he's on the market in the first place?

I hope we don't bite. I guess there's no harm in making a pitch, but some team is going to overpay to acquire him and I'd hate for it to be us.

Doubt we'll pull the trigger. No way will Scot overpay him.

IF we can get him at $15M as reported, this FO will have really helped this franchise ...

they are not overpaying anyone - that's the price for that level of player

Hmmmm... tempting for sure. I just think Normans agent is still using our team's old reputation to bump up the price tag or help keep the price up.

You don't have your client, and his family including his mama, spend all day at a team's facilities if you're only using them to drive up value.

He was so worth the money, even if it was a tad more than we liked. Now can go to the draft and focus on other needs. Excited!

When I first heard I wished it would happen, but didn't expect for the team to have interest. Got home from work and saw a meeting was set! I've been checking updates since 6am! [-o<

I'd prefer 3 to 4 years rather than 5. But his last year on contract will be 34 hmm..

Haynesworth was 7 years so. I don't know how comparable it is other than age

I wonder if there is an opt out

Just read the fully guarantee is $36.5M not $50m.
