Are you thinking of Will Compton, our linebacker? Tom Compton was a backup OT.

Will Compton is an NFL player - Tom Compton is not now and never was
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I think he signed with the Falcons. Still a football player.

Obviously not a guy you want starting all season but he was OK as a backup. Showed he can play guard, OT and TE. Good versatility for a backup.

They can't all be pro bowlers. Teams need role player, depth guys too.

most of the offensive issues here in 2013 and 2014 was directly due to an absolutely horrid O line - I have been looking forward to the time when no offensive linemen from that time is still on this roster - NONE, EXCEPT for Trent Williams of course

I understand that may not happen and that some may make it as back-up players but they are not what I'd call quality depth, at all

I was a bit surprised about Pot Roast, but it seemed that teams could run against the Redskins last season. If so, the defensive coaches probably looked at the big guy at NT...concluded that they could use the money they would have spent on Knighton to bring in two (or three?) players.

(Of course, I wish the Skins would run the 4 - 3 defense, just as I'm sure they would do well with Richie Petibon, or Jack Pardee, or George Allen calling the defense. But that's sentimentality.)

Not that we were expecting him back here until the sudden news that he was visiting the Skins again, but Terrence Knighton decided to sign with the Patriots.

My guess is they simply outbid us: his deal is worth 1 year, $4.5 million.

For $4.5 million they can have him. Our run defense was awful, especially on first down.
