Jr Gallette....?

Post by tribeofjudah »

I say he stays.
He wants to play for the Redskins - nothing says that more than the Redskins tattoo he got?

Let's hope he signs sooner than later and can stay healthy. I wonder why they haven't got this done already.

He fired his agent because he wasn't happy with how negotiations were going. The new one will have his own process and it'll take a little time.

Chances are he wants a few million and the Redskins are a bit hesitant to commit given his injury and off-field history. We were the team that gave him a chance last year, and were able to do so for a minimal payment, but that doesn't mean we should be paying him $8 million just to play here, necessarily.

Yeah other signings in free agency unfortunately are going to drive up his price. Can't blame him for trying to get the best deal possible for himself. I agree with Irn-Bru that he would be nice to have, but doesn't mean he's a must have at any price guy.

I really don't feel like his price goes up at all. The guy had issues before and was given a chance with a 1 year show-us-something deal and missed that due to injury. I don't see other teams offering too much more than us by gambling on his potential two years ago. I think he gets 1 more year, but possibly longer depending on what our coaches saw before he was hurt.

I don't disagree with your reasoning. I'm just saying that's going to be the argument he's making to teams trying to get more money out of this contract. Look what all of these other guys are getting paid.

From what I've read, it sounds like the team has made him a decent offer but it includes a lot of incentive money rather than guaranteed money.

Considering he's done exactly ZERO with the Redskins, as in hasn't even played a meaningful snap, I fail to see the urgency in signing him based on what he did two years ago. If he signs, great. If not, it's not like losing Dexter Manley.

I'd say the team agrees with your thinking.

Reports say he wants another one year "Prove it" deal so that he can cash in if he has a big season. The FO wants to sign him to a multi-year deal now. He feels he can have a "Yuge" year, and make bank on a mega-deal next year. That is the hold up.

Signed. One year, up to $4 million.

He's got to be better than Trent Murphy. Right? 8-[

I keep thinking Murphy should gain 30 more lbs and become a DE in passing downs...I don't see him doing much as an OLB.

Maybe put on a lot of pounds and try him at nose tackle since he couldn't move his ass if it was on fire.

My thoughts on Trent Murphy:

Why? Murphy's role is directed impacted by the re-signing of Galette.

Murph grades out as a very good run stopper who showed real good bull rush in the last quarter of the season.

JG will work the edge and in space. It's a very good pair to have.
