Hognostication Playoffs 2016 - Hognosti-Bowl XI

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Hognostication Playoffs 2016 - Hognosti-Bowl XI

Post by Deadskins »

So it comes down to a battle of the top seeds, just like in the Super-Bowl..
1 Michael Stahl
2 SkinsJock

The Hognosti-Bowl works differently than the playoffs since there is no home team. The contestants will still pick the winner and a total game score, only this time it will be in PM to me. After I get the first PM, I will post in this thread that the player has made his pick. Once the second player makes his pick, and there is no chance of a tie, I will post both picks here, locking them for all time. Next Monday, at 12:00 Noon EST is the pick deadline. There is no restriction on the game point total, so decimals are accepted.

Good luck to both, and happy Hognosticating!

OK, the votes are in, and the points won't be the deciding factor. The players have chosen different teams.

Michael Stahl - Carolina 45.5
SkinsJock - Denver 44

Good luck!

^^ gotta love it - I think the points are lower if Denver wins because they win by doing a good job defensively
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Denver 26, Carolina 23 ... in OT.

That's 20-20 with a FG followed by a TD.

Here's my other 49 point scenario with Denver winning.

Denver gets the ball late down 24-19. They drive for the go-ahead TD but fail on a 2-point try. They hold on to win, 25-24.

Or they are down 24-18 after missing a PAT and missing a 2-point try later when trying to make up for it. Then they drive for the tie and get the 25-24 win with the PAT.

Thanks mate - my thoughts after the Pats game were that the Panthers had no idea how good a defense they were up against ...

The Pats offense survived on pure guile, and Brady's vision. Not the equal of the Panthers O...

What I did NOT count on was Von Miller reaching "beast-mode-level: OMNIPOTENT" and staying there for 60 minutes of play... Incredible performance... FINALLY the SB MVP went to the right guy.

totally agree that the Patriots O was not playing well at the end - however, putting 20 good hits on Brady was amazing

I did not think that the Panthers would be anywhere near ready for Von Miller or Ware or the rest of that awesome Denver D

The always effusive head coach of the Buffalo Bills rarely hides an opinion, and that goes for his new favorite college football team. Ryan, whose son, Seth, is a junior wideout for Clemson, has become an outspoken fan of the Tigers the past few years. He routinely shows up to news conferences and public events wearing the orange and purple.

:hmm:
Odd first post, and slightly off topic.
