Greg Manuski
I love me some Greg "Bad Attitude" Manuski. This will prove a very good move...

I remember Manusky. Not a big star, but pretty good, very smart, and tough.

Re: Greg Manuski
What kind of a coach is he?
Brief googling indicated to me that many Colts fans felt he was a scapegoat who put together as good a defense as could be expected without much support from their GM.

Re: Greg Manusky
I could care less what kind of coach he was ... it's what he will likely do here, given the opportunity ... that is a good thing
IMO Scot and the scouting department have clearly shown that they know what is needed from top to bottom here and that this guy is a former Redskin who will likely be even more motivated is exciting

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Re: Greg Manuski
It seems like another sound move by Scot, more evidence that the Redskin organization is making good decisions. It's not flashy, not razzle-dazzle, not an attempt to win next year's Super Bowl in one dramatic off-season move. That's an improved approach.
It's also the sort of decision that George Allen and then Bobby Beathard and Joe Gibbs would make. Old George was one of the first to have a special teams coach...and George was proud of the times his teams blocked punts or field goals.
During the Beathard / Gibbs / Casserly era, the Redskins spent more on coaching than almost any other team. "Leave nothing to chance"...that seemed to be the motto. Get the best coach, from Gibbs to the "assistant head coach offense" (Dan Hening) or AHC Defense (Richie Petibon), who rated more money and above, say, the defensive coordinator, and on down to the "strength and conditioning coach" (can't remember for sure, but I think Gibbs teams had one of the first in the NFL).
