There should have never been a moments thought that Dallas was going to win today..not a moment
and while I shouldn't be happy they lost I actually am!! Happy this nightmare ends, the fact at 4-12
they are now in prime position for a high pick..now if we could only get rid of the moron owner this
season might actually be worth cheering for

I predicted 8-8 at the beginning of the season, before we even knew Kirk Cousins would be starting, but didn't think that would win the division.

Cousins is a new star in the league. Shanny said he would be a top 10 QB in the league and Shanny was absolutely correct. Kirk has Pro Bowl numbers in his first year starting!

What a wildly successful season. Not just a division title, 9-7 record, but this team is going in the right direction. We've found our QB, we have a GM who actually knows what he's doing.
We look like a real NFL team.

For the first time in the Dan Snyder era. The second time if you want to be generous.

Whoda thunk, that the two hottest qbs heading into the playoffs are from 2012; neither named Luck not RGiii?!

just imagine how great we would be right now if we did not have RGIII ... of course we'd still have Mike and Kyle running things too ....

just love these woulda, coulda, shoulda, threads, because, if we hadn't taken RGIII .... we are so lucky how that all turned out ... aren't we?
TBH - I'm absolutely thrilled that this franchise is where it's at right now with RGIII still on the roster and pissing off a few fans here

H A I L to the NFC East Champs
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

And the record could easily have been even better. Atlanta and Dallas at home should have been victories, and the opener with Miami was winnable too.

I've been thinking about that too, man. Not to play the coulda/shoulda game but for people kind of scoffing at our 9-7 record, those two games were definitely close to being Ws.

I hated losing those 3 games but in hindsight we now know that Jay was trying to bring Kirk along slowly and build his confidence ... IMO he could have loosened the reins a little bit sooner but he knows a lot better than we do
it's all good - we have a lot to look forward to & can expect more success a lot sooner than we thought possible at the beginning of this season

Gruden himself has said he called conservative plays early on not only to bring Kirk along but the young offensive line as well.

I didn't really buy the play calling argument about the Dallas loss, but I have to concede now that it at least played a part in that game. There were other big reasons we didn't win that night, but you can see that game was a turning point. Since the Dallas loss, they've became more willing to throw early and often. I'm sure there were a number of reasons why they were so run heavy that game. The biggest positive to me though is to see the team being flexible and able to adjust since then, and to have the confidence in Kirk and the WRs to move the ball when the RBs can't.
Just a hunch, but I still have a feeling we might see the team go more run heavy again on Sunday. GB not looking at us as a strong running team. Lichtensteiger possibly back in the line up. I wouldn't be surprised to see it. I would be so happy to see Morris have his best game of the season this Sunday.

Wait a sec.. I think this guy (me.. pointing to myself.. yea me) said we'll go 10-6, 5-1 NFC East with one loss to the gnats.
Damn you cows for that one win.. I was FURIOUS!
9-7, 4-2 NFC East.. Not to shabby right?
I did say we'll be the NFC East champs though.. it's on the record, in the books
Skins for life baby!!!
..and I'll be eating cheese all day on Sunday

I agree with you that the play calling was only a small reason why we lost to the pukes + that the team seemed to respond well to that game
we have seen the play calling change somewhat - while I like their confidence in Cousins, I better appreciate what Gruden is trying to do and staying with the run game is a big part of why things are going well offensively
+1 - we have to stay on the ground this week to better "set up" big plays with Garcon, Jackson and Reed - the O line has improved but I'm hoping Kory can have a great practice week

I'm kind of nervous about that change back to Lichtensteiger if it happens. We've all seen the problems with LeRib, but just worried about messing up whatever chemistry they've got going the past two months or so. Guess we will see!

What chemistry? I was gonna think of some funny Le'Rib joke, but in all honesty we are lucky Captain Kirk has good hands.... Cus EVERY shotgun snap is slung at his head or worse :/

oh I know, man. I guess I meant more that for better or worse we've gone on a good run with this group. So it makes me nervous to make a change like that.
Btw looks like we brought in some secondary help today:

We need a center. I'm sure that's on Scot McCloughan's priority list. But for now we have to work with what we have. A supposedly healthy Lichtensteiger is the best option of the three, although I did see De La Puente playing a good portion of the final game. I have to think LeRibeus has played his last snap in a Redskins uniform. He's just not very good.

Scary too because I've never been big on Lichtensteiger either. Always hear/read conflicting things about his play.

I know Scot McCloughan isn't a big believer in free agency spending but I have to think someone like Alex Mack would make a huge difference in both the running game and pass protection.

Re: Dallas postgame - Hail to the NFC East Champs!
Totally agree and will say we NEED to have some semblance of a run game to win. While I think we can win a shootout with Rodgers I would prefer to not have it come down to that. A nice run game could keep Rodgers on the sidelines!! I’m not worry about Kory coming back…I wonder is Long playing well enough or would there be consideration to move Lerib to G?
