Seattle, Minnesota or Green Bay?

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

I don't see how beating a stronger team week one would better prepare you for the 2nd game. I think it would be just the opposite, actually. Besides, you stand a much better chance of even making it to the 2nd game if your week 1 opponent is weaker. Less chance of sustaining injuries against a weaker opponent, also. Anyway, I never said we couldn't get to the 2nd game by beating a better team, just don't see any reason why that would be the better option.

We are certainly capable of beating any other team in the field. But every team in the playoffs is a good team, including the Redskins. So it's not a question of playing a good team or a bad one, it's a question of who I'd prefer playing if maximizing our chances of advancing to the next round is the object. I see Green Bay as the team we are most likely to beat, Minnesota after that, and finally Seattle. (At least for the first round.)

Seattle would travel to Minnesota, who they beat handily a few weeks ago. Assuming Carolina beats Tampa this weekend, that means we'd travel to Arizona for the Divisional round. If we can beat them, and Seattle can beat Carolina, then we would host the NFC Championship game against Seattle. That would be epic!

I've been painting such scenarios for a few weeks. I prefer this one.

ARZ gets top seed. CAR #2.

We host VIK or PAC and win.

SEA beats the other one on the road.

SEA beats ARZ and we avenge loss to CAR.

We host SEA and get revenge on the way to the Super Bowl.

I'd prefer to play at the Panthers than at the Cardinals

can you believe we are thinking about this - like what am I going to do when I win the lottery? UNREAL

I'd love the NFL's worst nightmare of a matchup - NE Patriots and the Washington Redskins

maybe Harry Reid can fly out there for it as our mascot ....

For that to happen, both MIN and SEA have to lose this weekend. I see this as the least likely scenario. If MIN loses, and SEA wins, then we get SEA.

When you consider the fact MIN plays @GB and SEA plays @AZ, I would think there is a decent likelihood of MIN & SEA losing.

Decent yes, but still less likely than either one, or both, of them winning in my estimation. Basically, I think GB is playing pretty poorly right now, and that MIN will win that matchup. I suppose MIN losing and SEA winning is really the least likely scenario.

So how do we get Green Bay? I think destroying the pack round one, gives us the best momentum to take down the next opponent which will be on the road.

Luckily, no matter when... IF we play Seattle we will be at home. I hate Seattle, but there's no question about the advantage the "12th man" brings to the table.

Redskins playing at a high level and Green Bay hanging on for dear life. I think this should be a resounding Skins victory Sunday.

Its crazy to think that many of us were hoping to see GB this weekend. hah. Who would have guessed?

Can you imagine winning this game? It would be kind of insane after months of people pointing out that Cousins is no Aaron Rodgers. lol.

Going to be interesting. Rodgers is still Rodgers even if the team is down a little bit this year. We need to score some points, because I don't doubt he'll find ways to beat our secondary. Especially in the playoffs.

Is it crazy that I think we can beat them in a shootout??

Minneosta showed the blueprint last night. Take away the middle of the field. This game will be determined by our secondary.

In all do respect I think it will be our ability to put pressure on Rodgers....No secondary is good enough to defend him.

Joe Barry and the Redskins Defense will have learned a lot from the past 2 games by the Packers and Aaron Rodgers

Right on, man. Its not just about pressure but about actually getting to the QB. One of his biggest strengths is extending the play. Not going to be a good situation for our secondary if we allow that to happen.

I'm pretty psyched that they were able to take Kerrigan out early yesterday. Not to mention Preston Smith starting to come around at the right time. That GB offensive line is beat up. We need to take advantage!

Hopefully Hatcher is well rested. We'll need him. He was extremely emotional after the Philly game, I think he'll really explode on Sunday.

Heard some interviews with him this morning. Dude is hyped to be in this position. Last year was a big disappointment for him. Can't wait to see him get after Discount Double Check on Sunday.
