Right on JSPB - the Redskins are NFC Champs again and the NFL and Mara can stick it ...
certainly not a well played game by either side but in a way that should hurt the stupid eagles even more ....
BIG congratulations to everyone for finding a way to win - the first goal of any franchise is to win the division
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I know there was that goofy play at the end of the first half, but not a well played game by either side? We scored 38 points including a defensive touchdown. Cousins threw 360+ yards 4 TDs and an INT. They pretty much put the game completely out of reach before the fourth quarter. WTF more do you want?
Nobody plays "perfect" games. The Eagles suck and we beat the crap out of them.
Seriously man, I'm just done with your downer posts at this point. We're going to the playoffs.

I'm loving that on consecutive weekends we eliminated the other 3 - what a great ending to an amazing season in the NFC East - the eagles, giants and pukes defenses are absolutely terrible and apart from Eli & ODB, the offensive units are as well
we should have won each division game this season but, then again, nothing was as it should have been - worst to first, is all that counts
winning the game was great but the execution was not - we got a bunch of yards against nobody and the eagles were horrible on both sides
btw - records set in different eras do NOT qualify for comparison - VERY happy for Cousins but don't try and make comparisons with really great Redskins QBs - he's not even close to being that QB
Sonny could drink this kid under the table and still go out there and play QB better and not make stupid mistakes - let's just be happy we have him and he can help the franchise, Kirk Cousins is not a HOF QB

btw - how sweet it is to eliminate this bunch from the playoffs in successive years - LOVE IT

Bipolar disorder? Weren't you whining about the loss to Dallas in another thread five minutes before last night's game?
And please stop with the blanket statements. You don't know if Cousins is a hall of fame quarterback. No one does. His career is a long way from over, barring something out of the ordinary. Sonny Jurgensen wasn't a hall of famer twenty games into his career either.

He doesn't want to prop Cousins up, because in his mind it knocks Griffin down. Look at his signature. He's a Griffin fan.
all that is important to me is that we found a way to win a game against a franchise in our division that at this time we are clearly better than - we lost 2 games this season against division rivals that we should have won because at the time we were the better team on the field
messy game in many ways but it would have been a terrible loss and in fact it is a HUGE boost for this franchise heading into the post season
Cousins will be our QB going forward - I have faith that McCloughan will find personnel (players/coaches) to suit what he wants for this franchise

Many here had other opposing thoughts.
Yeah, I think you'll see in the threads around that time, he was the coach I was hoping Snyder would hire.
Last year was a mess, but I'm pretty happy with what he's done this year. He knows offense, he knows quarterback play, and the team seems to be responding to him. Just like some of our young players, I think Gruden has the opportunity to learn and improve in the job too.
People can hate him all they want. Pretty sure the last Redskins coach to win a division title in his second year was Joe Gibbs, haters.

blah blah blah blah. Should have won, could have won. The NFL doesn't work that way. I doubt we've been a favored team in more than one game this season. We were three point underdogs last night.
Win more games than you lose and you have a chance to go to the playoffs. Quit pouting about a three point loss to a division rival already.

anyone that thought the eagles should be favored to win that game before the game does not know anything about the NFL but they probably made a killing with the Redskins win - what does that tell you - HA
we should have won a number of games this season whether we were 'favored' to or not makes no difference
we beat the eagles all over the place because they are badly coached and played terrible football on both sides of the ball

SJ is still butt hurt at how wrong he has been all season and he wasn't able to see the potential in Cousins that many of us did throughout the year. There were others as well; some have eaten their crow (sort of) while others are not.
Oh -- and we beat them up and down the field last night. We controlled them on offense and DEF played strong as well. We didn't "find a way to win". We beat them playing our game.

Once Dallas lays down and dies for Buffalo tonight the end should be super easy
Dallas never lays down at home for Washington. You know that.

I think this season has approached 2012 levels of excitement, StorminMormon86. I mean, just look at the throws Cousins was making last night. He has been playing out of his mind.

Its been better than 2012 in some ways IMO. Griffin was obviously electrifying that year, but we also had to go on a crazy run at the end of the season to make the playoffs. For a good chunk of that season we were awful, if you remember, and Shanahan was ready to call it a wrap. This season has been fun to be in the hunt in the division consistently.

Yeah I know it. Just going to have to ignore that poster for a few weeks. I want to enjoy this playoff run.

No doubt. We identified that there was no way they were going to stop our passing game with their beat up secondary, and we abused them. We also bounced back from mistakes.

Actually, he didn't throw any INTs... None tat were caught at least. He carved the D up like a thanksgiving turkey.
On the D, we gave them yards and even points to run down the clock.. We literally kicked their assess sloop bad that we could give up 250 yards and a couple scores in the second half, to run the clock out.
I'm not a huge fan of the "prevent the big play" D.. especially when we can be stingy and give them NOTHING. But when you're whipping that ass, it's nice to help fantasy owners I guess lol
