Re: Somebody Said Cousins Couldn't Throw Deep..
Be great to see the game plan include a lot of long passes down the field to take advantage of Cousins strong arm and Jackson's speed
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Jets are making the Giants look good right now.
Re: Somebody Said Cousins Couldn't Throw Deep..
The Jets are not making the vagiants "look good" - both of these teams are just not that good - refs are helping a lot too

Giants dominated majority of that game and they gave it away!

Been the story all year for them... Only the opposite VS us last game. We nearly let them climb back from the jaws of defeat and steal a W.

It was a weird game. I don't totally agree that the Giants dominated. Jets killed them on time of possession, Giants had one big ODB touchdown and a punt return touchdown. Giants D is definitely better now that JPP is back.
Let's go Patriots now.

How great would it be if the NFC East ends up with the pukes in 4th place and the vagiants in 3rd behind the fecals - there were some that thought they might win the last 5

Easy business decision.
so, having him on the roster this season so we can cut him next season did not cost the franchise anything - you implying he's here for free?![]()
you continue to spoil us with your input
Cutting him right now goes against our cap. If we wait until next year, there is no cap hit. Get it?

By "some here" you mean that one Cowboys fan.
I'd actually like to see the Giants come in dead last though. Behind Dallas. Is that still possible?

I don't get what you're saying. We've already taken the cap hit for 2015 whether he is on the roster or not.
As long as he is not injured, we can cut him today, tomorrow or in January and owe him nothing in 2016.

If he is cut now the remainder of his salary is due immediately instead of over the remainder of the season.

Why would that be any kind of factor? Snyder doesn't have the cash available if he has to pay it all today?
That still doesn't answer what StorminMormon wrote. We're taking the 2015 cap hit either way regardless of whether Griffin gets one big check or gets five more checks.
2016 is not guaranteed in any way, shape or form as long as he is not injured.

There is the whole time value of money thing, but the bigger issue is WHY would you cut him now? You are paying him no matter what. If you cut him now, the only questions anyone in the media will be asking are about why RGIII was cut at this point. He also has a relationship with the players. Why mess with the dynamic when cutting him my piss off some players and distract others? No reason to cut him until February.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

It keeps money in the till in case they need to promote a player from the practice squad or sign a free agent due to injury.
They're paying RGIII $419,986.02 every game week. They just signed Carlos Fields for $127,941.00 due to injuries to linebackers. If they paid RGIII all his money up front they might not have that money to sign Fields.
Don't try to make sense of it. It doesn't make any.

The cap comes off the books when it's actually paid out, not at the beginning of the year. That's why spreading it out makes more sense.

Re: Somebody Said Cousins Couldn't Throw Deep..
my point was more that there is some $ attached to RG3 - the post implied there was none ...
I'm sure that the FO is very aware of what is the best way to manage this situation and is doing that, just as they have done since before the season began - RG3 is here and most likely not playing in 2015 - be interesting to see what happens down this path in early 2016
I hope to see RG3 playing in the NFL in 2016 and I hope that Cousins is here in 2016

Re: Somebody Said Cousins Couldn't Throw Deep..
Kirk Cousins is a backup. If Rg3 had a coach that supported him and coddled him like Kirk is coddled, he would be better than Captain Pick. He couldn't even outplay Cassel, another backup, at home with superior talent.
I think we all see now that Jay Gruden is what Ive said all along- an idiot coach who does not belong here.
Even though Ive been hard on Kirk, he does have some chance to not suck. But I still believe he does not have the physical ability to win for us and actually be a consistent starter in this league. He is not a franchise QB and he does not deserve the silly money people want to pay for him. He is a great Redskins backup and spot starter. But I will give him this, he might be better if we had a real coach. But if we had a real coach- a coach that can teach and adapt his scheme...
RG3 would be better.
Embarassing home loss against a team without its QB.
The off season will be the end of Gruden and the re-emergence of RG3. As I have said all year.
