Jones, you've got to be *f$ck* kidding me. Sit your ass down and don't get up again.

It's not a shoot out, it's a shoot down....unless Roberts is going to return every KO after each Panthers TD for a score. 'Skins have 2 turnovers, only 3 first downs, are getting gashed through the air and on the ground, getting destroyed in TOP, and of course are battling the refs as well. This one gets ugly quick.

That's OK, refs. Don't call the false start. We can overcome every time you *f$ck* us out of points.

Our defense blows, they can't tackle or cover and can't pass rush and on top of that they can't even get lined up today.

4 passing TDs in a quarter and a half. I would like to see a list of the record-setting performances over the past 20 years that have come against the 'Skins. Seems like we're always on the receiving end of someone else's career day.

We need safeties. Four of them. These guys can't cover a wall with paint. Olsen wide *f$ck* open ...

Doesn't matter. If the 'Skins had a player in tight coverage, the refs would call PI anyway. Not gonna win this game, and that's what the league needs.

You need to take a look at TOP... they have been on the field literally the entire half. Two quick scores... two turnovers... WTF, man?

I've seen enough of Joe Barry's D, i'm hopeful for an offseason change to the D-coordinator. He was terrible in Detroit and that stat about our defense being the first skins D to give up 5 straight games of 150 + rush yards does it for me. I like the guy but something is terribly wrong with this Defense and it's not all tackling, although it's sure contributing.

WTF is right. 5 straight games over 150 + rush yards, guys can't tackle and are talking while the ball is being snapped. it's the 2nd quarter, no way they should be winded if that's your point. And it's not just today, outside of the pathetic Saints our D hasn't been able to get off the field.

It has been an institutional thing, the staff and players don't seem to matter. Remember the time Boomer Freakin' Esiason threw for 522 yards? What about Vick's huge game on that ghastly Monday night? There have been similarly-ridiculous rushing performances as well. It would be hard to put up some of these numbers in Tecmo Bowl for frick's sake, but yet it keeps happening.

I don't disagree but this defense is atrocious and Joe B's track record doesn't provide much leeway for excuses, imo. The panthers only passing weapon is their TE yet Cam has 4 passing TD's in 6 drives.

The defense is only as good as the personnel. It isn't Barry's fault the team hasn't had a decent safety since 2007.

Damn right.
Welcome to the Super Bowl, featuring, for the first time ever, two undefeated teams. The Patriots and Panthers both come in with identical 18-0 records.....
NFL football as we know it is on the way out. In a fairly short number of years, the traumatic brain injury issue will cause the demise of the game. There just isn't a good remedy for this issue as long as guys this big and this fast continue to slam into each other hundreds of times per season. The league wants to have a "marquee event to end all marquee events" to cash out before the end, and what would be better than an undefeated Super Bowl match up? No way the pathetic Redskins can stand in the way of that.

Our personnel has holes, no doubt, but they have better talent than last year and aren't any better. In fact, they're worse against the run despite a true NT and added D-line depth. Coaching should mask talent defincicies at some point.

Hey, it actually could be worse. Look at the Fecals, who also gave up 4 passing TDs in the first half.

Re: Gameday thread - Redskins @ Panthers
Every big flag has gone against us. Every one. I can understand when our players make mistakes, but those two big penalties were not mistakes by our guys. Culliver did not commit a penalty. That TD should have stood. The holding call against Reed was complete BS.
I'm sick of the officiating in this league. Sick of it. It's "professional" alright. If anything will turn me away from the NFL and free up my Sundays, it will be the officiating. It's criminal.

Re: Gameday thread - Redskins @ Panthers
Skins can't run the ball can't stop the run. Another Jones fumble. I think we got screwed on the pick 6 that turned into a penalty because Olson was bending himself to hit to the DB the shoulder. The DB wouldn't have hit his head if he remained upright.
Where do the Skins find a rush defense and a running game?

Re: Gameday thread - Redskins @ Panthers
Gruden picked Barry over other D Coordinators that are currently doing very well.
The troubling thing is how Gruden does not want to adapt to any of our players. Sure RG3 is obvious, but what about Kerrigan and a certain Pro Bowl RB who is still in his prime. How many Pro Bowl players can Gruden destroy?
Sure Captain Pick can look great against the worst defense in the league. Sure Pick can barely beat the worst team in the league last year. Can he carry it against real teams? Nah. He's a backup.
31 points in half. embarrassment. We would only have scored 7 if not for a lucky KO return. Sounds like an outmatched coach playing a backup QB against a team that isn't worst in the league at something. Just like last year....NFL teams figure us out and we don't have a coach who can adjust.

Looking forward to the 2nd half adjustments
