Your Day Was Better Than Doug Flutie's Day

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Your Day Was Better Than Doug Flutie's Day

Post by Burgundy&GoldForever »

BOSTON —Boston College legend and former NFL quarterback Doug Flutie lost both of his parents on Wednesday.

Flutie's father, Richard, and his mother, Joan, died Wednesday morning. They had been married for 56 years.

"My Dad had been ill and died of a heart attack in the hospital and my Mom, less than an hour later had a sudden heart attack and passed away," Flutie wrote on his Facebook page. "They say you can die of a broken heart and I believe it."

I'd extend condolences but I don't even know what to say to someone who lost both parent the same day. Somehow, "I'm sorry for your loss." sounds empty and hollow.
“He was at that time the smartest player in the league. We did everything we could to try to eliminate him from the play. We knew if we didn’t neutralize him, then we had less of a chance of winning.” - John Hannah on Chris Hanburger
