I love the smell of napalm in the morning ... It smells like ... Victory.

The Cliff's notes version of the game:

Quarterback play was outstanding (against the 31st ranked defense.)

The running game was stellar (against the 31st ranked defense.)

The big play was important to breaking the game open.

Tackling is still a problem.

Giving up the big play is still a problem.

The defense was excellent overall in holding a team averaging 28 points a game to 17 points.

Takeaways are coming ... slowly.

4th down stops are a sign Joe Barry has the team as prepared as it can be with the personnel he has.

Special teams did not give up any big plays.

Hopkins' leg must be about to fall off from all the PATs, field goals, and kickoffs.

Everything was absolutely amazing, save LeRibeus' snaps from the shotgun. That's my only complaint. And FOX continuing to show the 3rd stringer. That's irritating.

Today was a good day. I'm glad the cowboys are struggling. That's what they get for Greg Hardy [-X

As I recall, the last time the Redskins played the Saints was at the beginning of the 2012 season. Yeah, that season, that game. We got a big win that nobody was expecting back then, against a good Saints team, and we scored more points than we had scored in a long time. It was electrifying, and look at what we went on to accomplish later that year after the Saints game.

I hope lightning strikes twice.

Hail Redskins.

Nice to see this team beat a team they were clearly better then. The return of the run game was also nice to see. I really want to see this team put together a good game against a good NFL team. I really wish they had played better last week against the Pats because I think they had a chance to be in that game. I love that the game (Pats) wasn’t too big for Cousins. We get another chance this week against a good Carolina team.

I'm thinking we hand the Panthers their first loss.

I'd be impressed if we did that. I read yesterday a local Carolina NBC beat writer said the game he most thought the Panthers could lose on their remaining schedule is the one next week versus the Redskins.

I'm with you, man. Its good that we beat the Saints, but I really want to see us win one of these games where we're not favored.

It looks like the Titans were in that game v. the Panthers for three quarters. Its not insurmountable. I'll be curious to look more closely at that game this week and what to expect from Carolina.

I agree with this 100%.

People are already on social media (Bomani Jones, namely) hinting around that the Skins fans are going to start saying Cousins is better than Newton. While no one is saying that, all I've seen so far is that we can beat them, it's still adding more fuel to the Cousins hating fire.

Which makes me REALLY want to beat the Panthers.

I would've benched Brees after waving off the punt team on 4th and 2. I'm glad he did it, but I'm still scratching my head on that one.

That's so weird. Didn't Sean Payton win a Super Bowl a few years ago? Weird that he sucks now. Its almost like he doesn't have enough talent on defense to win games. :D

That was one of the best games I have seen us play in my recent memory. Honestly, when was the last time we have played a game where we knew we had already won entering the 4th quarter?

Then again, NO's DEF is historically bad. They have given up an average QBR of 70.6 to opponent QBs before yesterday and they are giving up more PPG than any time in the NFL since DET's 0-16 team in 2008.

Regardless, a lot of things to be happy about. We saw a run game which was nice and you could see that it helped Cousins tremendously as we didn't have to rely on the passing game for our OFF. Morris had a great day..... maybe he isn't "done" as some suggest??? We'll see though.....

All in all, it was nice to watch us thump a team for once.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

There's no denying this. On the other hand, does anybody believe OUR defense is anything special? Probably ranked around 25th going into this weekend. And the Saints only mustered 14 points.

I'm just not that worried about the "yeah but the Saints suck" argument. If we had beat them 21-17 it might have been a different story.

I don't understand why people don't get this point. We were SUPPOSED to crush the Saints because of how horrible their defense is.

And I totally agree with this. We put up more points on NO than any other team they've played other than NYG, and that includes AZ, CAR, and ATL. No question our OFF played well. Cousins' QBR was 20 points higher than NO's opponent average --- and 20 points is HUGE.

NO is a pro team. Cousins played like an all pro and IMHO cemented his position as starter not only for the remaining year, but going into next season (apart from something crazy happening). Morris looked good. Our DEF played well. It was a great game for us against a team that had won 3 of its previous 4 games. I don't want to downplay that. Best game of the year against a quality opponent.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.
