I'm watching. I'd just like to see Kirk afforded the same "OPERATION PATIENCE" that was given to 10.

like I said - you're just not seeing what I'm seeing and your view is tainted - I just want the QB to play well and what I'm seeing is a QB getting preferential treatment despite the flaws

that's OK - keep him in there - we'll get rid of both of them soon enough - Scot is not putting up with this stuff next season

I'm starting to not like Kirk Grossman... Grossy seemed to flash more Sexy Rexy then Kirk does. Must be the injuries, even tho Crowder and RossDaBoss both ran faster 40s and are bigger targets then Djax....

*Djax is taller then Crowder.. both Ross the Crowder recorded sub 4.35 40s but the at the combine averaged higher. Neither are as good at the position, but I do think are capable of opening up the top of a D if we took shots, and delivered accurate passes. Djax is far superior, I'm still a little salty from the beat down we took.. meh

My point all along has been that Kirk Cousins should be given every opportunity to start as QB here but that he doesn't get to start for 16 games if he shows that he has not learned how to stop turning the ball over or if his mechanics don't improve - THAT"S IT - we've seen some improvement but he continues to show that he's not going to be able to stop turning the ball over - while B&GF sees a future Brett Farve or John Elway in this kid, I think that Cousins has shown that he's not going to be as good as many here think

all I'm asking is, why do we HAVE TO make Kirk Cousins start 16 games as the OP suggested?

I think the difference is that Robert EARNED patience.. he put up a magical year in 2012, that was ended by a catastrophic injury... And followed up by another big injury. Since he has shown greatness, and wasn't 100%, he deserved a longer look.

While Kirk has shown us some very positive thing, he continues to turn in subpar performances, showing he has not improved on protecting the ball, and the grit needed to perform on the bigger stages..

I do think he will turn in some solid performances to buy him self some more time... Although, if he doesn't, moving on needs to strongly be considered

I think Kirk Cousins gets to keep playing even though he's obviously proving that he's not a very good QB - to some of us, at least
the problem is that it would seem that neither McCoy or Griffin have shown the coaches that they are ready to come in and play better

Cousins has a big opportunity this weekend - he may not get another ...

The qb position here is an impossible role to fill when the oline is so porous. People will say thats an excuse, but while robert holds the ball to long, hes already getting hit before long enough- and missing TW our best lineman didn't help at all today

Cousins is going to continue to be the QB here - that is ONLY because he's the best option at QB here NOT because he's a good NFL QB, he's NOT - we all know (well, most of us) that we do not have a QB on the roster that is a better option at QB, at this time - HOWEVER .... it's my GUARANTEE - IF Cousins continues to turn the ball over, one of the other 2 QBs (hopefully McCoy) will be starting here - This franchise now rewards players for playing/practicing well - The QB position is a little different than the others because some continuity and familiarity with the other players around him is V important, BUT ... the single most important deal with the QB position is to not turn the ball over - taking sacks or not being effective is not near as CRITICALLY IMPORTANT as not turning the ball over - end of rant

IMO - Gruden decided to go with Cousins for 2 reasons, he seemed to have a better grasp of the offense that Gruden and McVay wanted to run and given that the O line was still coming together, having a QB that got rid of the ball quicker was an advantage

Gruden hoped that Cousins would have learned that it is CRITICAL to NOT turn the ball over - that, IMO is going to cost Gruden his job and it will also mean that Cousins will not be QB here much longer if he continues to do that

OK - the fact that TW was not playing last week against a better defense than when Griffin played so badly against a TB defense that was not so good and also without TW is a mute point - TW's absence was a bit of a factor in last Sunday's game but TW's absence did not force Cousins to not have good mechanics or to make 1 horrific decision and throw that INT

I could care less what Griffin did or did not do - I only care about Cousins propensity for turning the ball over

why do we have to go back and revisit all the bad plays these 2 QBs made before this season - let's get Cousins to stop throwing interceptions and make sure we don't have to put another QB on the field

The Gruden who takes a Pro Bowl 1000+ yd rusher and turns him into a backup? Gruden is an idiot. Cousins has a worse Passer rating than RG3 if you take out RG3's 2012 year. Cousins has thrown like the same amount of ints in half the time. And all doing this while playing on a much better team than RG3 has ever had.

Gruden is an idiot who cannot adapt. The third quarter thing is his inability to adapt. And its not new. He had horrible 3q in Cincy as well.

Jay Gruden might be wrong, but he is the only one of us who will lose a job if he picks the wrong QB.

Gruden is in a better spot than we are to pick the best QB. My hunch is that switching to Colt McCoy will just replay last season. Hunch also says that Griffin will not get another start in Washington. Therefore, Gruden has three bad choices, three losing choices. The Redskins might as well stick with Cousins. Maybe he improves. Maybe the OL play improves and Cousins improves with it.

Painful, but no one seems to have a QB, a WR, and an OL hidden, just ready to spring on the second half of the season.

Kirk Cousins with a huge day. No doubt in my mind if you surround him with weapons and he can get it done, but consistency is the difference between him and guys like Alex Smith and Andy Dalton.

You have to give him all 16 games and see if he can improve his consistency.

Kirk had his best game as a Redskins to me. They finally opened the offense back up, was not predictable and put it on his shoulders and he took it in stride and won the game for us. I still don't give anyone a guaranteed 16 games unless he is earning it.

The only good thing about this season is watching Redskins offense I don't think the Skins under Gruden need a big time playmaker at QB. Kirk Cousins has gotten the offense humming and that is with guys like Grant, Ross, Roberts, and Carrier getting too much playing time. The Redskins are one more receiver and offensive lineman from being pretty darn good everywhere but quarterback. A game manager could win some big games.

Again, Kirk Cousins needs all 16 to see if he can improve his consistency. We know what Colt McCoy is.
