Crowder might make the switch to qb.. he had good pocket awareness and smartly threw it away when nothing was there, instead of throwing it to the nearest db

Re: Skins @ Jets Post Game Catharsis....!!!
there is a problem with this organization. 1. We have a weak head coach who clearly is playing favorites. 2. Injuries, why are the Redskins always so riddled with injuries? Strength Coach? 3. Kirk. He has had more games in Jay Grudens "system" and is still showing the same things he was showing last year. It's time to play Colt. Although, I think RG is still our best option, it's dumb to play him with the 16 mil we'd owe him barring injury. I've always hoped he'd restructure/re-do his contract. I would love to see one more chance for the humbled QB. We'll see if our weasel head coach will make it through the season. Scot will bring in his guy to lead this team. Kirk fans eat your crow. Specifically his biggest homer OldSchool.

I also think Alfred's best days are behind him. He doesn't have the play-making ability that Jones/Thompson has. I love Alred, but we need a game changer. It's really tough being a fan of this team as you all know.
Re: Skins @ Jets Post Game Catharsis....!!!
OldSchool should take Captain Kirk and Jay Gruden over to his other NFL franchise ... the Browns

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

The injuries are having a huge impact.
Cousins is not a real NFL Starter.
Gruden is not a viable NFL head coach.

Re: Skins @ Jets Post Game Catharsis....!!!
I keep hearing "injuries", but I think our young dbs, and young oline, both with a few backups in have done pretty well.
I don't see Jax, Hall, Trent, Jones, or even Reed making THAT big of a difference today. Hell, wasn't our only offensive td to the back up tight end?
Every team gets hit, and that's how it goes.
Kirk really didn't play well, and that hurt us. The D did good enough, but kept getting sent right back out there. The O was inept. The back up wrs WERE getting open, and Kirk was getting decent protection all day.. he just missed more then he didn't today. The ints REALLY killed us, coupled with the inaccurate throws what could we do? Run game is being taken away by the opposition daring Kirk to beat them.... And he can't. Simple as that. If he hits deep or even medium-sized deep a few times they will respect the pass and open up some lanes for the RBs. CT did ok, and I don't think Jones woulda done much better then AlMo.
D Young was finally involved a few plays.. idk why he isn't used more especially in short down situations.
All in all gruden is my biggest gripe.. I think we settled on the name, but got the wrong one.
Even Andy Dalton looks better being a year and a half removed from his system and play calling. Coach seems bewildered, and outmatched waaaaay to often

You cant polish turds.
Fire Gruden- only an idiot cant see he's gone after the year anyway. Bench Captain Pick- he is a great BU QB.
That is a great start.

The defense could not stop the run in the 2nd half. Cousins looked like dog crap in the 2nd half. Zero run game for the second week in a row. The injuries. This game was a recipe for disaster.
Re: Skins @ Jets Post Game Catharsis....!!!
Hard to win if you can’t run the ball or stop the run. This was by far the hardest game to watch in a few years, seeing what could have been with Bowles as our coach. Really impressed with him, no one has scored on the Jets in the third quarter this year!!

No one will ever be able to justify to me why we hired Jay Gruden over Todd Bowles. Don't hire the former Redskin with the Super Bowl XXII ring who actually understands defenses and is a personal friend of Doug Williams, a senior executive with the Redskins who personally recommended Bowles to the Redskins before he recommended Bowles to the Jets.

Re: Skins @ Jets Post Game Catharsis....!!!
"Captain Pick" - I like it
Captain Pick is not a starting caliber QB - he does not manage the offense - it's not the O line or the other players around him - the guy just does not make a defense respect any part of the offense - the opposing defense dictates and the Redskins offense is not able to operate
Jay Gruden is being given his opportunity to keep his job just as Captain Pick is being given his opportunity to make the big deal that some here thinks he should get
these 2 have a lot of work to do in the next 10 games - hopeless and horrible IMO

Re: Skins @ Jets Post Game Catharsis....!!!
Does anyone realistically think with McCoy or Griffin in the game yesterday, the outcome would have been different? Sure you might have had less picks thrown, but there's no way in hell we would have even been in the game, let alone leading at halftime. That's what drives me nuts about this fanbase. For all of Kirk's faults, what is the alternative?
Re: Skins @ Jets Post Game Catharsis....!!!
Cousins can't learn, he is one of those guys that can't walk near the edge without jumping off. I thought he could learn from his mistakes but it is in his genes. This is as good as it will ever get. Lets bring in McCoy, the pressure is off him and let the season play out. He played very good for us last year until that injury. Gruden is part of the problem, let Scot deal with him. Gruden has to be promoted up and out of the decision making process, he'll make a terrific liason for travel arraingements. Make Calahan temp head coach and see how the season unfolds.

Re: Skins @ Jets Post Game Catharsis....!!!
In the last 2 games our defense has forced two punts total, aside from the last drive of the game yesterday that resulted in a blocked punt where the Jets were content with running clock. The defense looked like an early season strength but has been shredded in the run game 2 weeks in a row and can't get off the field on 3rd downs, if it weren't for the turnovers they've created the past 2 weeks each game might have been very very ugly. This cover 3 that keeps everything in front of them has helped to prevent some big plays but it's not stopping other teams from sustaining drives and converting manageable 3rd downs. No run game, a defense that can't get off the field, an offense that doesn't stretch the field allowing teams to focus on stopping the run( i think Kirk's YPA is lowest in the NFL) and a QB incapable of avoiding mistakes. Reed, DJax, our CB's and the o-line health will help but not enough against good teams to overcome our QB play and defense.
I think we finally have a good GM, results of the draft are promising, and now i think it's time to let him pick the coaching staff and find the rest of our missing parts. I hope and pray that this coming offseason leads to McCloughan running another successful FA and draft along with finding the coach of his choosing as I think that's the only fix that can save this team aside from Snyder selling the team. Until then, this season will be more of the same i fear.

With that logic, does it matter who starts ? If the outcome is the same regardless, then who should start? You can't win games throwing 2 picks in 4 out of 6 games unless you have an ELITE defense and stud special teams group. I'm not picking on your comment I just think it's pointless defending any of our QB's at this point. I personally don't care much about the QB position any longer, Gruden is not going to tailor an offense to RGIII and even if he did who knows if it would work. Meanwhile, his offense is supposed to be taylor made for Kirk who can't get out of his way with inaccuracy and turnovers and while I love Colt's competitiveness i think we know who he is. We need a new QB this offseason and most likely a new coaching staff. McCloughan needs 3 to 4 years to completely overhaul this roster and I truly wish Kirk could get past his turnovers because I like some of what he does but he keeps throwing these inexplicable passes that make it really hard to believe he's going to move past his mistakes and he just misses too many passes.

Re: Skins @ Jets Post Game Catharsis....!!!
Not good enough from Kirk by a long stretch. The first INT was complete garbage and his accuracy was off all day. He's under the microscope this season, and he knows it.
By any measure, the deck was stacked against the team yesterday going into the game, but if Cousins wants to prove he can be an NFL starter, he has to be better than that. I know people will continue to point at the INTs, but my biggest concern with Cousins is just that I want to see more fire, more competitiveness and more confidence. Say what you want about RGIII, but I do know Griffin has THOSE qualities. Threw a pick? Shake it the f*** off and get back after it.
Frustrating game yesterday. There were things I liked as a fan: Breeland, Hopkins, fewer penalties, kind of surprised that the offensive line protected Kirk as well as they did. But hard to enjoy of those things as the bad outweighed the good so much.
Truthfully the Jets game went about the way I expected, so I'm not going to spend all week feeling bad about it. If this team is going to be worth watching this season, they will come out and get a win against Tampa on Sunday. If not, probably unfortunately time to start wondering what the plan is for next year.

that's the problem - you just don't get it - you're just anti anything but Captain Pick
Captain Pick is not the reason we lost - he and the HC were a big reason the offense did not play as well as we should have but we really would have been very lucky to actually win the game
why do you keep thinking it's all about who is the starting QB?

This is all on the Danny. He doesn't care about good defense. All he wants is a remake of the "Greatest Show on Turf." That's why he's only hired offensive coaches.

Um, yes. Our 13 was a direct result of turnovers created on defense. Why would you assume Colt could not have gotten us those same 13 points, if not more?

I 100% agree with this.
I think McCoy could have put us in a better POSITION to win. However, I don't think any of our QBs would have won that game. The NYJ's didn't punt once ---- not a single time. Those INTs were bad, but our DEF wouldn't have stopped them if we had to have punted on those possessions. The only way we were winning last night was in a shootout and none of our QBs are equipped to do that.
A couple more of these from Kirk and I'll want to see RGIII back in there since the season will be lost.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.
