I've been a huge fan of his since we drafted him, but his early fumbles, and injury troubles had me worried we would never get to see the talent he displayed at Florida State. But he showed lots of flashes with punt return TD's in the preseason and showed some insane burst on some running plays and he never dropped the ball in the passing game.
This year I'm loving his growth as a 3rd down back and I hope to see more of him in the passing game and hope we can try to stretch the field and give defenses something to think about with running plays to the outside with him..
These young kids are really coming up, I'm loving how they are contributing..

He's a great option for us. I really don't worry at this point about injuries to our RBs (knock on wood). Morris has proven his durability and Jones is a tough, physical guy. With Thompson as a capable fill-in, I doubt we will be hurting for quality RB play at any point in the year.

He has lots of potential and I'm surprised we don't see more of him. When we lost Helu a void was created that coaching hasn't really filled for some reason, on a 3rd and 4 or 5 we knew what package would be out on the field. We haven't seen that type of confidance yet.

I think he has more than potential. Thompson's value isn't just in his speed. He has more receptions than Morris, Jones, and Young combined. He's tied for 4th most receptions on the team (11) with Ryan Grant. I'm thinking that's why we didn't see much of Matt Jones in the Philadelphia game. I'd be stunned (barring injury) if we see anyone else in a 3rd down back role. I still expect Morris and Jones to get the bulk of the carries because their more suited to taking a physical pounding.
