Let's hope this observation from Tandler is true:

The Giants are pretty banged up. Five players are listed as out, including three starters. In addition, starting left tackle Ereck Flowers is doubtful with an ankle injury. The Redskins aren’t the picture of health with DeSean Jackson still out and ILB Perry Riley questionable with a calf injury. But going into tonight it looks like the Giants have the worst of it.

I know it's the Giants and we need all the breaks we can get but can't we just kick their asses without them having a bunch of injury excuses? I really don't want to hear the media talk about how Eli wouldn't have been eating grass all game if Ereck Flowers had been healthy.

Excuses are for the losers. You never hear the winning team say "well, we could have won by even more if X, Y, or Z happened"..... I have no issues hearing the excuses thrown out, because at the end of the day, it's about the W. Let the b!tches whine.

Seeing our DL getting pressure without help is something we are not used to... and even though they haven't produced sacks, they have provided pressure, and have carefully maintained gap discipline. That may change tomorrow. If Eli starts finding receivers, expect the wick to get turned up. Keep in mind... there is almost no film on the looks this team will show when blitzing... that will make it very tough for the Giants O-line.

This is a real possibility. Ostensibly, it looks like Barry is implementing some sort of cover two or umbrella to try to keep the secondary from being exposed deep. That's allowing the linebackers to drop into coverage and the safeties to stay deep. They haven't really been tested by a premier tight end or slot receiver yet (and, no, Tavon Austin doesn't count) so I'll be interested to see if the defense holds up after playing Dallas (Witten) and New England (Gronkowski).

He's bringing 3 to 5 guys. When bringing 5 he's playing man behind it with one safety free. The SS covers the TE.

Video of him teaching it:

Fun Fact:

On 3-step drops, Kirk Cousins is 19-for-19 for 157 yards and 2 TDs

That's what I wasn't certain of. I didn't know if the SS was playing zone or man under. That clears it up. Interesting video. Thanks for posting.

Another fun fact:

Duke Ihenacho ‏@NachoLyfe 4m4 minutes ago

..technically our defense has only given up 20 points in 2 games...which is 10ppg.

win or lose, this franchise is on the right path ..

I want the Redskins to win all 16 games this season but this game is huge - it's actually a lot bigger for the giants because they could go in a 0-3 hole and that stinks, big time, for those fans and media in NY ... I just cannot stand this franchise ...
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Duke's on IR, but he's also right. The other points were given up by the special teams.

Me too, man. Its not even about the W. Another poster correctly pointed out that this is exactly the game where we always come out and lay an egg, completely embarrass ourselves. Coming off a good performance, feeling good about the team, prime time game. We all know how this scenario always seems to play out for this franchise.

To not fail that way would just be huge. Its easy to say we're on the right track, but winning a game like tonight's would be a big step towards proving it.

Oh, we're on the right track all right and we can win this game as long as we don't try to do what we're not really capable of doing - we've done very well so far by just playing basic football and not pressing on offense or defense - we're not good enough to do that - we just need to stop the other team's run game and keep on the safe side with our offense - if Cousins or the OC try to get too fancy, we're in trouble

As of right now I believe the Skins are the better all around team.

Giants are awful and hurt.

I fear the same Skins that show up in big games are going to show up tonight.

The Skins are awful during prime time games and always find a way to blow important games like tonight.

I hope I'm wrong and they come out and smack the Giants around.

Problem is they never do.

This is a huge game and they need to show up tonight.
