Spaight To IR, Culliver To Active Roster

Post by Burgundy&GoldForever »

The Redskins placed linebacker Martrell Spaight on injured reserve. Spaight suffered a concussion in the season opening loss to Miami. The Redskins needed to make a roster move with corner Chris Culliver coming off his one-game suspension.

A season-ending concussion? Nothing about that can be good.

I think it was more this:

The Redskins needed to make a roster move with corner Chris Culliver coming off his one-game suspension.

It is likely severe... But we don't know that it's season ending

Is it season ending IR, or return eligible?

It's Season ending...not going to use return eligible on him IMO.

I'm guessing he goes through the claims process like Tevin Mitchell, wonder if he gets picked up.

I think you're right, I forgot Tevin was waived due to injury and this was a straight IR designation. Thanks!

He is on IR because the team wants to keep him... The issues in the D backfield made keeping him on the roster, but unable to play a problem... (cue the "turn this into a Griffin thing response")...

Yup they see a gem in Spaight and don't want to lose him to another team. IR keeps him with us. But what do I know?
