RG3 to cowboys???

Post by oneman56 »

Pure speculation hut with Romo out 8 to 10 I wonder if Jerry calls Bruce or Dan and tries to bring Robert to Texas. Thoughts?

Zero chance the Redskins would trade RGIII to the Cowboys under any circumstances.

Entirely possible imho... I'd hate for it to come back and bite us, but he was a Texas boy at Baylor and the Jerruh has publicly expressed his love for him.

He might teach them the ins and outs of our offense! Or play QB on their scout team! They'll really have our number that week...

I thank RG3 for 2012 and giving all he had for us, but there aren't many places he will go to and succeed. He'll be a dangerous backup somewhere.

No way Snyder would do that, just imagine if RG3 did very well. We would be haunted for decades!

Why not? This team thinks RG3 cant even be a backup QB so why not trade him to anyone, even a division rival. If he sucks so badly as Fat Gruden thinks, then you should ship him there so he can ruin them even more.

If RG3 is anything remotely good, then he should be starting for us.

The truth is RG3 is good. I saw 2012. That's no fluke. He has had 2 coaches that are egomaniacs who have a very narrow view.

If we can get value for him that will help us long term, ship him to Texas.

He doesn't fit their offense either. Why trade for him?

I admit I pondered this situation myself, last night after Blowmo went down. I just couldn't see it with a division rival like the Pies, though.

I don't think the Cowboys would want him, and Weeden would still start over him.

With his indecision and inability to see open receivers, RG III could make that line look bad.

When Romo went down, it was one of the first things I thought of, but honestly I don't think RGIII fits into that offense well.

Maybe this though.

Mike Ortiz Jr. ‏@xOrtiz4x Sep 16

League source tells me that they believe if QB struggles continue in Houston that a trade for Robert Griffin III could be a possibility.

That's best case; trading Bob to an AFC team. See him once every four years.

Possible.

But I just can't see Griffin being traded to a team unless it was for an emergency backup role.

Looking more like an emergency in Houston each weekend.

But yeah I don't quite see how he fills an immediate need for them.

League source tells me they'd trade RGIII for a bag of chips but not within the division, and apparently not one but two NFC East teams have inquired.

I have to assume the only reason they didn't cut him was hoping a team would run into qb issues or injury and that we could recoup some assets via trade. This is looking to be a possibility, it would seem very likely the two NFC East teams would be Philly and Dallas. The Bears, Texans and some other teams wouldn't be shocking. As for Weeden still starting over RGIII, that my be true for a while but they still need a back-up. If Jerry believes RGIII's issues are correctable i could certainly see him reach out to us. It will be interesting to see if we do end up trading him and if we do, what we get in return.

I can't imagine Bill O'Brien wanting a guy without pocket skills. I could imagine Chip Kelly thinking he could use Griffin but I can't imagine Dallas wanting him because of Griffin's utter lack of pocket skills.

I would love to see Griffin go to the Dallas even if the Skins didn't get something back because I think Griffin is a negative influence I'd want off the Skins and having him go to a team like Dallas would squander games trying to use Griffin in the pocket would be a positive. The only team I think Griffin really fits is the Eagles and if they would give something useful I say make the deal.

Matt Cassel traded to Dallas. Now we can stop with the RGIII to Dallas *sh$t*, right?

RGIII playing QB again would be a good thing and I hope he goes to an NFC East team - there are many fans here that think he cannot play QB at all - I'd love to see this kid play QB against the Redskins twice a year - kid's got game ...

and that would be a good thing for the NFL ...
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I'm new to these forums, but man this thread is stupid.

Sorry but there isn't a chance in hell Washington would trade RG3 to the Cowboys.

I don't understand how this is even a topic.

Now if you want to get real. I'll call it right now. RG3 goes to the Eagles next year if Kelly doesn't get fired.
