Wife of Washington G.M. admits to “disparaging remarks”

Post by Smurf85 »

Well this team just gets sadder and sadder.

What a F-ing Circus

Looks like Scott isn't the only one that likes to hit the sauce. She's probably why he drinks.

The Skins are the reason I drink.

On August 30, Jessica McCloughan directed this message to Russini, via BlackSportsOnline.com: “Please tell us how many BJ’S you had to give to get this story. And did they laugh at you before or after?”

Sounds like somebody got into some of Scoot's vodka before they started tweeting. More fuel for the dumpster fire that is this organization. ](*,)

Classy.

Quite frankly, I see nothing wrong with Jessica McCloughan's twitter comments. Dianna Russini couldn't get a story right by accident before she went to ESPN. Now she has inside information. Seriously, who is she giving favors for information?

I agree she is a pain and F her and F ESPN.

With that being said.

Why in the hell is it anyone that has anything to do with this team or doesn't have to do with this team .

Feels they need to jump on board the train wreck that is this team and these people make this team look even worse.

It's really getting old. The only Redskin news is just laughable and embarrassing anymore.

Hell it's been so bad lately. The damn Redskin name hasn't even come up.

The comment was unfounded and inappropriate, and I have the utmost respect for both the reporter and ESPN.

You know, I doubt that. [-X

Someone made a comment on Mike&Mike this morning that they envied the Jaguars, because at least they stink in obscurity. The Skins suck and we're national news all the time about how much we suck.

I didn't even know McCloughan had a wife. This is like reporting his dog took a **** on the neighbor's lawn.

So far the only problem I can gather is that if it's true (despite no evidence whatsoever that it is), this means our new GM who is supposed to fix all of our dysfunction, is feeding inside info to a reporter in exchange for sex acts. So it's kind of a big deal, but then again, there really is no proof outside of what seems like a jealous wife's tweet.

Or, like the media, you're taking the tweet entirely out of context. Assuming facts not in evidence will get you nowhere.

It was a bizarre tweet that obviously is just an outburst coming from a complex situation.

While it would be silly for this to be the leading news item for any network or website, it's still an embarrassment to McCloughan and the Redskins. The big question mark bringing him in here was whether his personal life was going to get in the way of work the way it did in San Fran (which included not just alcoholism but a marriage breakup). It was less than a year ago that the ESPN profile on him came out and said he was engaged to this woman — presumably the wedding came soon after — and now she's already talking about how he might be pursuing liaisons on the side? The man's business is his own, but the fact that it spilled over publicly like this, and in such a way that you have to wonder if alcohol was involved, is concerning.

Then there was the way our top PR guy bungled the team's response. First a random, no-name website broke an "exclusive" story with a quote from Wyllie that the tweet was from a fake account. Then a no-name blogger from Deadspin solicited a dozen emails from Wylie backtracking that made him look like an obtuse jackass.

Again, I'm not saying this needs to be the top story on NFL.com, but let's also not pretend like it doesn't mean anything. Even if the powers that be get on the same page and sweep this under the rug, and both McCloughans lie low for a bit — basically the best-case scenario — it still makes this organization look like it's out of control.

There is that, but if you look at the historical record in this franchise: where there's smoke there's fire.

The denial, retraction knee-jerk has become commonplace (see RGIII concussion protocol).

And this isn't a trial. In this "courtroom" perception IS reality. The wife said something to the effect that Russini was giving BJs to members of the Redskins FO in return for getting a story. She followed it up by saying the story most likely came from her husband. Uhhhhh, putting 2 and 2 together here.......

No matter whether true, false, or otherwise, it doesn't look good on the organization. This is pushing on reality TV. It also makes Scot's wife look extraordinarily trashy. Pretty sure there is trouble in paradise between those 2 lovebirds.....
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

This team could go 14-2, sweep the playoffs, and lose the Super Bowl by one point, and the media would still find something to criticize.

I didn't read the tweet as her saying that it was Scot that Russini was giving the BJ's to. I don't think jealousy entered into it at all.

How did you read it? The insinuation of her being Scot's "side piece" immediately after the BJ tweet, makes me think she was saying it was Scot who was giving her the info. Unless of course she was sarcastically calling her Scot's "side piece" because of something someone had insinuated to her (Scot was Russini's leak, and she jokingly called her his "side piece"), but either way the whole thing was bizarre.

And the big deal is McCloughan's past with other teams. He left both the 49ers and the Seahawks prematurely due to problems in his personal life. And here he is, not even a year with the Skins, and this pops up. To me it's not a big deal, but it still doesn't look good.

There was a second tweet where she was more explicit in saying that McCloughan was getting favors on the side.

What happened probably makes more sense in this context (if true):
“Shannon Rutherford, Jessica’s sister-in-law, told Radar that she knew about Jessica’s belief that her husband was cheating on her with the reporter, confirming that she has been aware ‘for a few weeks’ about the ‘side chick’ prior to the Twitter scandal.”

Either way I don't care about this one bit.

I remember being concerned hearing about the details of his drinking all day from a bottle of Gatorade laced with vodka that were absolutely classic alcoholic behavior and the BS statement I'm okay now because I just drink beer, another classic alcoholic self-deception. Now we learn about Scot's wife going off on twitter like this its a major red flag.
