Redskins Known as the Joke of The NFL
As another NFL season is about to officially start. I've come to realize that this team is a joke and everyone in the NFL is laughing. It was bad last year and nothing has changed.
Disfunction and Circus are two words I heard more than once today.
As a long time fan it scares me because Snyder isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I don't know what to say,but I doubt anything changes this year.
This team will be lucky to win 6 games and this QB situation could be worse next year if Cousins doesn't get it done.

hmmm, it's a long standing thing even for people outside of DC. That was the knock ever since Synder bought the team.

Well I think it's been a lot worse the last few years.
I've been a fan for 23 years or so and they've been bad pretty much all of those 23 years.
The last 2 have probably been the toughest to be a fan.

Jay Gruden is an idiot. We will never be good with him as our coach. Look back at 2014 and see how unprepared his teams looked. Listen to his pressers. He even admitted that being an NFL coach was more work than he thought. This guy is in way over his head.

Hmmm....he's not an idiot. He has learned and staffed himself with people who know more than himself so he can learn. He has learned a lot and now has CLOUT amongst the leadership. Griff with all his talent derailed and ran off the Shannys. He will not do the same with Jay.

The Redskins poor reputation has been earned and it will take time to erase that
I believe that we're seeing the beginning of a new way of doing things ...
This Thursday's game will be a good experience for the last pre-season game and the beginning of a new era in DC ...

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I'm glad they think that. Let them snicker up their sleeve, point fingers and be disrespectful. Mores the better. We'll be polite when we kick their asses and send them home wondering why such a bunch of stumblebumbs made a fool of them on national TV.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but really.
Come on man
Who are the Skins going to beat up on. We'll probably be picking in the top 5 again next year.

Who? Lets start with Miami, they seem a little arrogant. Time to knock some swag out of their swagger.
I hear what you are saying, you're no jerk, have some faith.

Man, I'd really like to sweep the G-strings for once. But I can't for the life of me figure out who I'd be satisfied with taking that one off us.

the culture has to change for the team to be taken seriously .... its been 10 plus years of bad football and bad football decisions .... preception is reality .....
TOUCHDOWN .....WASHINGTON REDSKINS !!!!
Re: Redskins Known as the Joke of The NFL
EXACTLY ... I think that it is now obvious that Scot and Jay have a lot more influence over the product on the field than they seemed to have only a week ago - it seemed very apparent that despite the obvious talent, Griffin needed to show a lot more than he was and yet they kept him in as "the starting QB" - this did not seem to be a very good decision - we were all assured that Griffin was having a good camp but his actual play showed that while he might be better than he was he was not looking like he was comfortable at all or greatly improved from last season - this QB saga is not over by a long shot but the fact remains that it would appear that for now Scot and Jay are managing things here - Jay has a lot of work to do IMO to prove that he's a capable HC and Scot will be looking at that almost as carefully as he will be evaluating those players he needs to continue the rebuilding of this franchiseredskinz4ever wrote:the culture has to change for the team to be taken seriously .... its been 10 plus years of bad football and bad football decisions .... preception is reality .....
I do look for a change in attitude from these players this season and I hope that the teams we play will realize this franchise is a tough game each and every week

Re: Redskins Known as the Joke of The NFL
Of course the Redskins are a joke we've all said as much for years. I don't think we need to review the parade of coaches Dan has hired and fired and all the high profile FA and trade busts to understand this franchise has been very poorly managed.
Our new hope is Scot the new GM will intelligently manage the team for Snyder and the early returns are that he handled our draft and FA better. I would have preferred an open competition for the QB spot but probably in deference to Snyder they choose to give all the starter reps and moral support to Griffin to give him a final chance but Robert failed to show significant or sufficient improvement and a decision was made.
Scot and Jay made the decision to name Kirk the 2015 starter. They could've kicked the can by naming him starter until Robert is healthy but instead they made a decisive choice, I find that encouraging. We will have to see how Cousins works out but I hope Gruden and Scot show some strength of conviction in their decision and give Kirk a full season to go through the ups and downs so we can see what he looks like particularly in the last 4-5 games of the season to see if he warrants an extension.
A poster on another board made a good point about this decision that I want to share. With Cousins operating the offense things work well enough for the coaches to evaluate the other players. Kirk gives the lineman and receivers the opportunity to be successful and by moving the chains and keeping the offense on the field longer a rest for the defense. Even if we don't win more the coaches and GM will learn more about the rest of the team with Cousins under center was the point this other poster made and it makes sense to me.
Lots of progress has to take place for the team to improve from bad to mediocre but with some luck maybe we'll win 6-8 games and the franchise will at least start to look better to us. That is probably too much to hope for this year but I am at least feeling more hopeful after the Cousins decision. Let's hope!

Nope, you already know the deal my brother. Anytime we end 10-6 (5-1 NFC East), that loss is against the Giants. The good news is that means we always sweep dallass also. Oh, and win the division.. and get to the playoffs and unfortunately get bumped by the Seahawks (3 dag gone times).. ugh, I hate them. If this plays out and it happens a 4th time, there's gonna be issues.
