{Really} Old Ball Coach

Post by hatsOFF2gibbs »

I was watching WJLA 7 News tonight and guess what I saw? Spurrier was at the Raven's camp today talking to their coach and some players. Does he want to even try to re-enter into the NFL after his horrible debut?

Living up here around Baltimore I heard all about it yesterday. The word was that he just came to check out practice nothing more. I still think that he is a traitor and should be shot....out of a cannon....

I saw it too!!! I noticed that he was wearing a ravens visor throughout the whole training camp practice. If you ask me, thats a insult to the Ravens Organization.

I didn't think Spurrier knew what a practice was? He probably got lost on his way to the bank or the golf course.
How many more sleeps until next season?

Traitor? Only to his beloved college football fans, who saw him turn in a great CF career for the "glamour" of the NFL.

With the Redskins.... quitter. But I don't blame him for his mistake. If anything, Danny brought him in. Who should be shot out of a cannon now?

He's no longer in the NFL. He can, and should do, what he wants. He's always been fond of the visors, so the Ravens thing ain't no big deal.

I'm of a different opinion. While I think he was a coward, I do however owe him a debt of gratitude. His resigning, and subsequent signing of Joe Gibbs has been the highlight of my year. If he didn't resign, Joe wouldn't be back. So, to Steve Spurrier I say THANKS, you coward!
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

We gave the guy $10 million dollars as well as free reign of our team for two years. He really should be wearing a Skins visor. He shouldn't have any animosity towards us... it should be the other way around, if anything. The classy thing for him to do would be to publicly root for the Skins, because like it or not, he's part of the Skins tradition. But this would be above him. The guy resigned from the team on a cell phone from a golf course in Florida. He didn't even give us "fans" a press conference.

I'm at a loss for words as to what to say about Spurrier because the fact is, had he not "resigned", we wouldn't have Gibbs and Gibbs would probably be coaching the Falcons, so we all need to thank the Lord above that he "resigned". So therefore, I can't say anything bad about Spurrier other than last season sucked and was hard to stomach with him coaching.

snyder paid the genius to resign when he knew he had a shot at gibbs. imo, spurrier is still nothing more than a big pile of poo.

Spurrier is a traitor -- plain and simple. The difference between a coach and great coach isn't the playbook, it's the desire for a win and a heart for his team (ie. Coach Gibbs).

How many times have we heard that Spurrier didn't know player's names or anything else about their lives outside of the game? He gave up because he was embarrased -- that's a quitter in my book.

I have travelled the net and found the Redskins promise land. This is, by far, the best site out there for Redskins/NFL News, Notes, Opinions, and so much more.
