If Griffin Flops Against The Ravens.....
If Griffin sucks again Saturday do YOU want him to start in the opener against Miami?
For me the answers is no, I want Cousins to start the first one and the next 15 to see if he can get over the hump. I'm convinced Griffin is done and I want the Skims to move to Cousins who flashed a high ceiling in his 9 starts over 3 years but needs to reduce his interceptions and finish stronger to be a quality starter.

Doesn't matter, rumor is Robert will be given 4 games to show improvement, after that I think Gruden can play who he feels gives them the best chance to win going forward. I'm OK with that, not like we are contendng this year. We need to see what we have in Cousins.

Pretty sure you're right on this one. And yet, people will still be yelling that we need to fire Gruden in the middle of this QB mess. SMFH.

I just don't understand why they will continue to play Griffin at QB if he is clearly demonstrating that he can't manage the offense
If Griffin is doing something to warrant their feeling that he's the best option at QB for both this season and beyond, then someone needs to clarify that for us and for the players

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

There are politics in athletics. Right now, RGIII is Danny's favorite -- so he gets perferencial treatment. He has been the worst QB on the team thus far, but that doesn't mean Danny doesn't like him more than the others ---- that is why RGIII will continue to play while being the worst QB on the team.
I saw things like this in grade school football.

Re: If Griffin Flops Against The Ravens.....
Team has a plan to evaluate Griffin, and they're sticking to it. If there's any truth to what's leaking out, they intend to give him at least four games to make a decision on him one way or the other.
I guess we'll see, but I think we may be underestimating what's going on with the team right now. This could get ugly quick.

IF Dan Snyder is meddling with anything to do with the product on the field - with the coaches or players - this franchise has no chance
IF that is the case here, it really does not matter what any player or coach does in any game

SJ, coaches and GMs come and go but Snyder is Snyder the only one that stood up to him early was Marty Schottenheimer so Marty got the axe after 1 year despite winning I think 6 of the last 8. The Skins looked like a real team with a future under Marty unti Snyder blew it up. You know, we all know Snyder just isn't willing to acknowledge his historic bust yet.

Agree 100%.
Personally, I thought that Scot was in charge. If RGIII continues his current play and isn't benched within 3 regular season games, I will no longer believe he is actually in charge of player-personnel decisions.
Second statement --- couldn't have said it any better.
Danny boy is not only a bad owner, but a bad person (based on what I have been told by a number of people that have DIRECTLY worked for the guy). IMHO, his bad karma will haunt this team for as long as he owns it.

I don't know about meddling, but it seems pretty apparent that the decision on Griffin has been made a few levels above the coach.

agreed ... It's pretty clear that Scot and Jay don't have the complete authority some of us had hoped for ...
hopefully, they're not completely out of the loop ... this QB mess is troubling but there are some positives to look for and build around after this season and if nothing else we'll know know not to expect too much if Snyder and Allen are going to continue to make a mess of things
just a shame ...

Scot is in charge of player personnel. This means he decides who is on the team. Jay Gruden decides who plays from the players Scot picked.

TOTALLY agree with JSPB - however, it would appear that Griffin is going to be getting more time to improve his play than we all thought
Griffin is not improved much from last season (if any) and yet he continues to be the starting QB here - troubling, to say the least

Some GMs are granted authority to decide who plays or at least given the authority to provide input. I understand this isn't the norm, but seeing how the media has said that Scot was given complete personnel control, I would think he'd have at least more than 0% input on who plays from the players he has given to Jay. Could be totally wrong though.

Re: If Griffin Flops Against The Ravens.....
I was hoping that Bruce Allen and Dan Snyder would stay away from 'on the field' stuff and just do whatever it is they're good at
Also, I thought that Scot would let Jay do his thing this season and he would then get together with Bruce and Dan and make a plan ...
If Griffin continues to struggle and they continue to play him as the starting QB, it would seem that this decision was not made by the HC
I was mistaken in thinking that Snyder was going to stay away from things and let the 'NFL guys' run things here - same old BS
this is a mess

Re: If Griffin Flops Against The Ravens.....
Well, let's see what Saturday brings. Perhaps another self inflicted RGIII beat down and Jay and Scot will tell Dan its over. Maybe a Cleveland level performance and Griffin gets a pass to Miami or maybe they pull out the old read option stuff and let Griffin run something he can handle to take the pressure off him for a bit and the hard decision gets kicked down the road for another day.

That is not happening - Scot and Jay are not making the choice about who is the starting QB ... for now at least - it seems the guys in charge (not the coaches) want Griffin running things for now and the offense will be geared around a strong running attack - the read option might happen but the offense will not be anything like we saw in 2012

Honestly I hope Griffin plays well on Saturday. IMO they're going to play him week 1 v Miami no matter what. I just want some reason to believe that Miami game won't be a complete debacle.
Really feeling bummed about the season.
