Griffin was NOT referring to himself, he was indicating what all players feel ...
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

So who was he referring to when he said that he's the best QB on the team?

fans are going to put their own spin on this - I took it differently than what most are insinuating he mean't ...

Griffin, speaking with WJLA-TV, maintained that he's not only the best quarterback on the team -- he's also the best in the NFL, though he clarifies that's more of a nod to his competitive nature than reality.

"I feel like I'm the best quarterback in the league, and I have to go out and show that," he told the station. "Any athlete at any level, if they concede to someone else, they're not a top competitor, they're not trying to be the best that they can be.

"There's guys in this league that have done way more than me. But I still view myself as the best because that's what I work toward every single day."

I hope that Cousins and McCoy feel the same way ...

:hmm:

I suggest you take a look back at the statement --- since you are pretty off-base.

His statement said: “I don’t feel like I have to come out here and show anybody anything or why I’m better than this guy or better than that guy. It’s more about going out and affirming that for me, I go out and I play, I know I’m the best quarterback on this team. I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the league and I have to go out and show that. Any athlete at any level, if they concede to someone else, they’re not a top competitor, they’re not trying to be the best that they can be. There’s guys in this league that have done way more than me. But I still view myself as the best because that’s what I work toward every single day.”

There are a whole lot of "I" statements in there. I don't see anything about 3rd party comments.......

Like I said before, had he left the comment to the first sentence or maybe the the first sentence and first half of the second sentence, it would have been a good statement. But he takes it too far. Last night didn't help him either........
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

I understood it differently than you ... and agreed with those that felt it was not a big deal that got blown out of proportion

every player should feel like that

I honestly can understand people who believe the statement --- when looking at it in a vacum without the history --- is getting blown out of proportion. Personally, what concerns me is that people who generally make those kind of statements are the ones that LACK confidence --- not the ones that have it. And from what I have seen of him on the field this year (and I know it is preseason), it supports that idea.

In all reality --- I don't think RGIII actual FEELS that he is the best in the NFL; merely he WANTS people to think that is how he feels -- because in his own mind, that is the way he thinks the best feel about themselves; even when it is not. You don't see any of the greats saying they are the best...... the only time you will is when a currently middling QB wants to get the best contract in football.

Jesus, if Griffin honestly thought he was the best QB on the roster, he wouldn't need to say it. He knows he isn't, and just wants people to have this perception that he has confidence.

DING DING DING! RGIII knows that he looks horrible. The QB's are watching the game and practice tape and he can see he's being outperformed. The other players know it too. Garcon ripped Griffin left and right last year and deservedly so.

We have two monster playmakers in Garcon and DJax and they might as well be on IR if we can't feed them the ball consistently.

OK - we all know that most everyone has a different take on the statement ...

what's more important is - what is making guys that know a whole lot more than anyone here put in the time and effort and continue to have this kid be the starting QB when most everyone here is convinced that he cannot possibly be the best QB for this franchise or for whatever offensive game plan we have in mind here

why, after all the practices, is Griffin still the #1 QB?

It does not really matter what Griffin says, what's important is what he does on the field

why are people so upset about what Griffin says, it means squat

these coaches just need to identify the best QB of the 3 and who the back up QB is - it does not matter if we all don't like what he says
