Geno Smith out 6 weeks broken jaw - sucker punched

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Geno Smith out 6 weeks broken jaw - sucker punched

Post by tribeofjudah »

This happened in the locker room. The LB was released, but I think he should SUE him in legal court. What drama....!!!

Smith is not innocent in this. Despite the description being "sucker punched" (in my mind, I'm envisioning Smith being punched from behind) both were continuing to go on and on with each other in the locker room before Smith was punched. Bowles has said he's mad at Smith as well and that he's not innocent in this matter. Considering he's supposed to be the franchise QB and he was arguing like a school child with a 6th round pick vying for a 2nd string spot on the roster, I'm not surprised in the least that Bowles holds Smith accountable somewhat.

It wouldn't surprise me if this winds up ending Smith's Jet career. I don't think he was setting the world on fire before he got hurt.

According to the article, he was having a very good camp, and didn't throw his first interception until yesterday.

So... Why would a multi-million dollar quarterback need to borrow 600 dollars for air fare, from a fringe back-up who is probably making near minimum? That is apparently what this tiff was about...

He didn't borrow the money. He agreed to make an appearance at the LB's football camp, so the LB gave him a plane ticket worth 600. When Geno went to a friend's funeral instead, he agreed to reimburse the LB for the ticket but hadn't yet done so.

Ahhh... Got it. When I heard the story, it was as background noise while I shaved... Guess I missed something important.

No. They heard his side of the story and determined it isn't as bad as was originally made out to be.

Yes, he cold cocked Geno, but did not "sucker punch" him. Geno owed him transportation cost reimbursement for his no showing at a function IK paid for AND THAT GENO PROMISED HE'D REIMBURSE THE GUY FOR.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

I don't envision Geno being the first to start this..Empala had every right to ask Smith for the $600
he was owed! but he had no right to sucker punch him breaking his jaw, personally I think this kid
is a thug and a loser and doesn't deserve to be in the NFL after this!!!

I heard somewhere that Smith was arguing and putting his FINGER in IK's face (as if he didn't agree to pay or whatever)...............the man could only take so much and snapped.

He snapped Smith's jaw. $600 buck you say? It's the principle matter.
