I'd love to... But I can't find the rewind button on my DVD player!

Too early to guess about our final record, but I do have one solid expectation: the Redskins will showcase a new, more physical identity on the field. I expect some confident swagger from our linemen, punching other teams in the mouth, and guaranteed short yardage conversions. We'll get more wins than last year from that alone.

OL Swagger is cool...

touche!!! I have a remote though, but it does have a cable hooked up the betamax but at least i won't have to get up and push the buttons.
oh damn. Thought I was the only one with that Sears brand VCR and its fully wired remote control.
I'd totally trade back to it for one more good year with the Hogs.

I'm pleased to hear that the Redskins media and the fans are starting to make noises like we're going to be a lot better this season but my expectations for this season is to show clearly that Dan Snyder is not involved with who plays anymore + that while we have a lot of issues this franchise is headed in the right direction under Scott M and by 2017 season we have a very good chance to be a playoff contender again
I'm hopeful that Griffin shows improvement because he has a much higher ceiling than Cousins whom I'm also hoping can show that he can be a good NFL QB so that we can get something for him at the end of this season OR that he can stay and be a very viable back-up QB
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I think he'll be a UFA after this season.

sorry - true dat - I'm really not worried - we have both of them and hopefully they both have great seasons

I'm hoping that all 3 show they can help an offense ... and that all 3 are playing QB next season
I'd really like for Griffin to show the many detractors how mistaken they were and for Cousins to get a significant contract next season

Last place in the NFC East again but not a 4-12 disaster. Still, a losing season.
Progress in the OL
Progress in the DL
Progress in Special Teams.
Very good running game, mediocre passing game.
Both Gruden (plus his jewel at Def Coordinator) and RGIII will not be back next season. Scot M will get his man and THEN things will really improve.
Increasing and brutal pressure to change the team's name because the Danny has mishandled even that part too.
Other than that, great SB offseason, as always.

I really started the thread because IMO there are many here with unrealistic expectations - I just don't think we can overcome the damage that Dan Snyder has done in 1 season and I'm not sure that Gruden is the right HC while we undergo the remaking of this franchise
the franchise will improve with Scott making all the big decisions but how hard is that without Dan screwing things up all over the place
I'm hopeful that with the right coaching Griffin can become a very good NFL QB but that is a big hurdle
we are not going to be very good but we will see improvement ...

There has been an unending source of self-deception among many snake oil drinkers for a number of years ... only to end up in anger and frustration in October/November.

Snyder -and -Allen. But the team is becoming increasingly competitive.

In another team, his time is over with us this season. It couda wouda shouda but it won't, not with Gruden. There is no time to start yet in another system with another coach when the fundamentals have seen so little progress. But I agree that he might re-start his career elsewhere.
we are not going to be very good but we will see improvement ...
This is reality but some areas will be really good and provide further hope for next season.

some have questioned whether Kerrigan should play this pre-season game .... why is that? maybe all our starters should not play ... WHY
others seem to think this franchise might get to the 8 or 9 win level - who are you kidding
c'mon people - it really does not matter too much who plays QB or that we just lost a good pass rusher - this franchise is in rebuild mode
6 wins would be good but 8 would be great
it's highly likely, given what we're seeing, Jay Gruden, Robert Griffin and Kirk Cousins will not be here next season

I don't see all the doom & gloom, we lost a starter we never had - deal with it. We've won both preseason games with the people we are wondering about - ok, I'll take that as a positive. Our running game is strong and might be able to turn it up a notch. The defense has injuries but they've proven they'll keep us in the game and the 2nd half of the season they might be a dominating defense. I have no doubt a QB will emerge. We got a good punter, he's a keeper. Kai is a mystery, like Cousins. But the overall Special Teams is worrisome at best, I hope they gell soon. I've upped my estimate to where 8 & 8 is doable.
Big improvement on D. Pot Roast alone will make a big improvement in the front 7. Secondary has no where to go than up. Culliver & Goldson should help a lot. O has more question marks than the SAT. I'm cautiously optimistic that Crowder will help the return game. Losing 3 key ST guys make the rest of ST even shakier than before. I'll be satisfied with 7 wins along with reasons to be more hopeful going forward.

I am as pessimistic and down about the team as I have been in years. I take that as a good sign, a sign that the team is going in the right direction. But going through withdrawal is tough. Normally I would be infused with enough offseason hype to set my spirits soaring. Not this year. With low expectations and no pressure, maybe we can actually fight out way out of the paper bag?
I am as skeptical as anyone about the QB situation. I expect the question to be settled by injury. Separate and apart from the talent question, RGIII is not durable and cannot avoid the sacks. How many can he take before his body breaks?
I am going to be as optimistic as I can be in August after I have watched two preseason games. I think the running game and defense are improved, special teams are still a problem and Griffin sucks. I think the Skins will lose every game that Griffin plays in and finishes. I think they play .500 ball without him. So if Griffin doesn't play in any of the regular season games they go 8-8, 6-10 if Griffin plays in 4 games and 4-8 if Griffin plays in 8. I can't imagine Griffin being able to suit up more the 8 times.
baby steps is all i need to see a better and improving team in every phase of the game not even thinking about our record as an improvement .... with that certain #10 at starting qb not even getting my hopes up this year ..... we are a 9 to 11 win team with solid qb play. not counting on that .... so i just want to be a competitive football team.

Kerrigan is coming off a knee scope. We just lost one of our top two OLBs for the year. You see some value in putting one of our only proven, legit players, our best pass rusher on the field in a preseason game? Kerrigan has something to prove to make the team?
That's fine with me if you want to see all of the starters play a half in this preseason game. Personally I wouldn't risk that particular player at that position.

personally - I don't think they need to play those players who have little to prove, much beyond a series or 2 - there are players that need time and there are players that the coaches don't need to see
for these next 2 games, only play the players that you need to see more from
PLUS you have to keep in mind, there are some players that just need some time on the field before the season begins
there are many injuries that don't happen with any contact at all - spit happens

But what happens to the QB if you are playing players on the bubble on the line? It's kind of a catch-22.
