champ returns...
Don't know if this has been posted but saw it and thought it was interesting....
DENVER(AP) Champ Bailey has made a name for himself as a cornerback. Now the four-time Pro Bowler wants to show what he can do as a wide receiver for the Denver Broncos.
Bailey split time with the offense in the only practice run by the Broncos on Tuesday.
"I told them I would like to do it," said Bailey, who has spent all five of his NFL seasons as a cornerback. "I intend to do it."
Bailey said the move had been in the works for some time. It wasn't until last week that coach Mike Shanahan gave him a playbook.
"Since they gave it to me, I've been studying to figure out what I had to do," Bailey said. "They had said they were going to do it, but you never know until you get the offensive package."
Shanahan had no comment on the matter, but watched intently as Bailey ran about 10 plays with the offense. He had a pass batted away by Roc Alexander on the first ball thrown his way.
Three more plays went by before he saw another pass. This time he blew past cornerback Willie Middlebrooks and set sail into the end zone.
He turned back toward the line of scrimmage and with a smile beaming ear to ear said, "I've been promoted."
Bailey made it clear this wasn't a promotional stunt. Neither was it something to satisfy his ego.
"I don't think I'm wasting my time because they know I can do it," Bailey said. "They're not going to put me out there just to get my hopes up."
Bailey barely missed making two interception

Ouch. That pained me deeply to recall Champ's days of returning punts for the skins. I really hope the Broncos let him do it this season too, so they can experience some of the same "joy" we all had watching him fumble away punts.
I'm sure that was all just Dan Snyder's fault though. Right, Champ?

How poetic would it be to see Champ catch a pass over the middle only to get gang tackled by Springs and Taylor, knocking him out of the game?
Maybe we'll see this in the Super Bowl. Then again, not this year.
Maybe next year...

Wow can you feel the love for an EX Player.
We didn't want him at WR on our team either...
