Yeah, OL probably not the best but he did hold the ball way too much, looked lost in the pocket and didn't trust the system. Some sacks were ALL his fault. OL don't hold blocks on 3 step drops when the ball is supposed to be gone
Please realize that there are people around here who do not think that griffin would be a good peanut sheller because he's too stupid or talks too much over social media or whatever. Nothing will ever actually convince them he's a good QB. No matter what 2012 is an aberration never to be repeated and the version of him last year is the real griffin. Let it roll off your back, dude. These 2-4 cats also aren't hard to identify either.
I may be Griffin's harshest critic here but I can be convinced Robert's our guy by performance. I have absolutely no interest, none whatsoever, in seeing 2012 Griffin again because that guy was bound to get hurt and would get hurt again. That might seem strange to you guys who cherish the memory of watching Robert in 2012 but I knew he was going to get seriously hurt so I didn't really enjoy it. What I got to say next might seem absolutely crazy to you but makes perfect sense to me.
What would make me a Griffin believer is if Robert played in 2015 like 2014 Cousins interception meltdowns and all. If Griffin processed fast like Cousins but made too many mistakes in 2015 I'd be ecstatic because they could fix the gunslinger mistakes and meltdowns down the road and he'd probably stay healthy. If he could somehow make the mental leap from 2014 Griffin to 2014 Cousins I would be confident we finally had our guy because Gruden could help him fix that problem. I don't know if Grudent can help the 2014 Griffin who seemed lost holding the ball and waiting for a guy to come open AFTER his break.
Soooo basically you just want Kirk Cousins to change his name to Robert Griffin?
I wouldnt want griffin to play like Cousins. Cousins may have been better at making A decision, but still a lot werepoor ones because they lead into INTs, and im a vig Cousins fan personally too.
Griffin needs to be his own man. I think a lot of his shortcomings last year were confidence related, you saw with Cousins what happens when a QB loses confidence.
Combination of a QB coach, 2nd year in a system, a beefed up offensive line, improved running game, confidence in himself and the system, being humbled by his hardships last year, better coaching, a new workout/training regiment, and better field positioning from both the special teams and defense can all combine for Griffin to have his first breakout year as a real (not gimmick) pro QB... or prove once and for all we should cut ties and move on.
I didn't mean to imply that we should run the read option as a staple. What RG3 has proven is that he IS a project cause hes missing IT. All the talent, seems smart, seems dedicated to a degree but maybe NOT enough. He gets a pass cause of injury....he gets a pass for recovering, he gets a pass for new system/coach, YET another injury and now a bad OL.....OUT OF EXCUSES. I can see a resurgence of the RUNNING BACK in the NFL in the upcoming years if most college programs go to the spread offenses and teams will have to groom their young QBs

Im betting on the former
Prowl33, I don't want a running QB because they get hurt. I'd like a QB that can rollout and make a completion as he rolls out but I don't want a running QB. I don't want 2012, 2013 or 2014 Griffin. If 2015 Griffin understood things better or recognized things quicker like Couisins or McCoy did in 2014 I'd be very happy. I don't expect the Skins to win more than 6-7 games in 2015 but I think the Skins would be further along at the end of the year if the anointed one appeared mentally quick enough to play the position. I could live with mistakes like the bad quarters Cousins had last year. If Robert could play in the pocket that well I'd consider it a coaching miracle and be confident that the following year Gruden could get him up to or near Dalton level like I think Snyder hoped when he hired.

There is a difference between a mobile QB and a running QB. Michael Vick is an example of a running QB and he was veey successful at it, and didnt have the accuracy Griffin does. Aaron Rodgers, or Steve Young were mobile QBs, who ran out of the pocket when needed, gained yards when needed, but knew when to get down. Thats what we want Griffin to be. Or like Russell Wilson... but Griffin is a much much better passer than Wilson.
If you dont want Griffin to be mobile like Wilson, or Rodgers, then just come out and say you dont want him as our QB and stop hiding behind if he does this or that im ok.
I would have preferred McCoy or Cousins to have performed so well in the pocket last season running Gruden's WCO that one of them was the established starter now instead of Griffin, never made a secret of that on this forum. That said, the truth is IF ROBERT COULD PROCESS AND DECIDE GOOD ENOUGH IN THE POCKET I'd fine with Griffin. Rogers is highly effective within a pocket and also quite mobile. You've made the Wilson comparison before and if Griffin could think and decide as well as Wilson I'd be thrilled. I watched Wilson in college and the NFL and he's smart in the pocket and out. My problem with Griffin is I haven't seen any inkling that is capable of the processing quick enough to perform like Rogers or Griffin. From what I've actually seen thus far Robert, when healthy, seems much more like Michael Vick than Wilson or Rogers. As for Griffin running he seems to have a lot of straight ahead speed although I don't know if Robert has the lateral quickness anymore.
No one would be happier than me if Griffin plays smart like Wilson or Rogers in 2015, I might be the happiest guy here because I'd be so surprised in addition to pleased.
