Connor Halliday

Post by Prowl33 »

Wasnt this the kid that missed thr combine and pro day, so he put on a public workout later, in the pouring rain, and was slinging completions short and long all day?

He was very good in college, a lot credited to the system he played in, then broke his leg. But the system was a pro style system based in the pocket.

I think for a UDFA this is a great pickup, he could develop over a couple years into either a viable #2, or who knows maybe a starter.

Put up crazy passing numbers in college. I'm guessing he would probably have been drafted if he had not broken his leg badly in November?

They really need to bulk him up though. He's like 6'3" 200 lbs.

I saw Tandler predict today that our QB depth chart this year would end up being 1) RGIII 2) McCoy 3) Halliday. Guess that's predicting that Halliday shows enough ability in camp to be the third string and that we're able to arrange some kind of trade for Cousins.

Yeah I think thatll be accurate. Next year he will be our #2 I think. Couple years under a good qb coach and inna system he should develop into a good qb.

Reports of his pushing Cousins or McCoy off the roster may have been premature... :)

As @TarikCSN pointed out, QB Connor Halliday is not at Redskins park for the minicamp. Was told that, For now, appears done with football

Washington is again down to three quarterbacks.

Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday was not listed among the players participating in the Redskins’ rookie minicamp Friday, and he has been removed from the 90-player roster, PFT confirmed.

According to John Keim of ESPN.com, Halliday appears to be stepping away from football.

Halliday threw for 11,304 yards and 90 touchdowns in four seasons with the Cougars, the last three of which were with head coach Mike Leach, long a proponent of a pass-heavy offense.

With Halliday departing, Washington has Robert Griffin III, Colt McCoy and Kirk Cousins at quarterback. The club has two rookies trying out this weekend: Hutson Mason (Georgia) and Anthony Neyer (USC).

Colt Brennan?! Is that you?
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Rich Tandler ✔@Rich_TandlerCSN
#Redskins confirmed that QB Connor Halliday is no longer with the team. No reason given.

What? That's odd. Can't wait to see new details emerge.

I'm disappointed because he looked like an NFL prospect throwing for over 500 yards against Rutgers. But maybe his injury hasn't healed or he is ready to move on to the next chapter in life. I think he had a shot of making the practice squad and growing from there if he showed promise in camp.
