Scouting Team

Post by SKINS#1 »

The GM has assessed the current scouting team and has a meeting with BA and then with DS. My guess is changes are coming, possible sooner than later. If not, why the meetings? Your thoughts!

I imagine a lot of it is structurally based, and wanting to add a few more bodies. Also betting there will be some people let go and his own people brought in.

I dunno, this sounds like ordinary course of business to me. After a big project (the draft) is done, the (general) manager of the team evaluates the team and reports to his bosses (DS and BA) on how things went with the team members during the project and how he thinks they performed. If some are let go from the team based on his report and recommendation, so be it.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Definitely at least some changes coming. When McCloughan came on board, they did not let any scouts go due to how close we were to the draft, and Scott also wanted to give the incumbents a chance to show what they could do. He hinted in his post-draft press conference that some are going to be let go. There have also been reports in the media that he could add to the total number of scouts, as the Redskins have one of the smaller scouting departments in the league.
