Yes, totally not a Snyder F up pick, if Scot picks a big nasty guard next I'll swear I'll get a chubby.

agreed - that is exactly what this pick was - BPA - not the BPA in Kiper or anyone else's mind, the BPA for this franchise going forward

gotta love it - especially for all those that thought that this OL, that will probably be really dominant for over a decade, is not worth taking at 5

this guy knows what he's doing and while it's going to take a couple of drafts (maybe 3) he's building this franchise the right way

btw - Jon Gruden thought it was a great pick too
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Huh? You weren't a fan when Beathard was running things???

Just what I was thinking.

I must admit I was clearly baffled by the pick at #5 and I was alittle angry last night. Today is a new day and it looks like this could be a good pick although I think they could have traded down and got Scherff later on. So now with Trent and Scherff on the ends I feel alittle better about protecting RGIII. I think the next pick in the second round needs to be Collins or Gregory both are a steal in the 2nd round.

You need a dance partner to trade down. Maybe they couldn't find one. Also, Scherff wasn't getting by the Giants at 9

Yeah I saw him compared to Shockey - both in playing skills AND character/attitude. lol. What's the word on his blocking ability though? It seems like that is what the team really needs as much as anything from a TE.

There are some highly rated DEs on the board still too, but that's one position I have a hard time judging whether a guy is a good fit in a 3-4 or whatever. I do enough talking out of my *** about football as it is.

Exactly, man. I don't get all of this "we could have traded down" stuff. We could have traded down, but we wouldn't have landed the player we wanted.

I love that we got the player the Giants clearly wanted. Ereck Flowers will be a good player for them I think, but by all accounts he's going to take some time to groom.

From what I've heard his blocking is solid right now, but there is room for improvement there.

You also have the kid Funchess from Michigan who is a WR/TE hybrid, but I'm not a big fan of his. HE is awfully slow and doesn't have the best hands. The guy I am really interested to see where he ends up is Doriel Green Beckham. He is by far the most talented WR in the draft, but has MAJOR baggage. Could turn out to be another Randy Moss, he's an absolute freak.

Nice. Won't surprise me to draft a TE this weekend, though Maxx Williams would be a bit of a shocker. Who knows though? If that guy is still on the board in round 3, he'd have to be one of the BPAs.

How are you guys feeling about the other first rounders in the NFC East?
Giants - Ereck Flowers
Pukes - Byron Jones
Eagles - Nelson Agholor

I think Flowers was a good pick and I was personally hoping Byron Jones would be available for the Skins in round 2. Good player who could have helped us at corner or safety.

Not sure about Agholor though. I definitely wouldn't have picked him there especially with some of the guys still on the board. Might be a guy though who looks better with the Eagles playing in Kelly's scheme than he would otherwise.

Absolutely, I'm really curious to see where lands too. I haven't seen any indication yet that McGloughan is willing to take a chance on those kinds of guys, and I'm not sure that Gruden is the coach to deal with him either. He'd be in a better situation getting drafted by a team like the Patriots who don't have to put up with BS from clowns.

Dont expect us to go for Beckham, one of Scots biggest factors is how a guy carries himself and his intelligence, which anyone that sabotages their career with off the field issues lacks. He doesnt want any guys like that in the locker room.

Are you kidding? He is the best pick of the draft!

Why, you ask?

Because, Mariotta is playing for the Titans!!!!

I'm not expecting us to take him, but I am interested to see where he lands. I'm assuming with that being Scott's philosophy that Gregory is off his board as well?

yes!!! Really hoping they crash and burn hard this year. I don't want to end up eating my words, but Agholor looked like a Chip Kelly panic move IMO. Like holy crap I traded Shady McCoy and don't have a good option to replace him. Insert [Jeremy Maclin] there for McCoy.

Lotttta good players left. Jaelen Strong, Landon Collins, Devin Smith, Eddie Goldman. Shoot, La'el Collins would be a good pick for us if we can figure out his situation. Might even be Randy Gregory time if they wanna go that route

Man you just listed about four or five players that I would be happy to see the team pick.

Its weird that Shane Ray was drafted in spite of the marijuana issue but teams passed on Randy Gregory. Must be other concerns.

Yea, i think people view Gregory as a potential Ricky Williams/Josh Gordon situation. Hopefully he isn't. I'd also throw Hau'oli Kikaha into the mix, injuries in the past but the sack production is ridiculous. Plus really fun to say his name

Yeah he's on my list as well, just not sure the two ACL injuries will fly. Might be really nice though in a rotation with Trent Murphy, yeah?

Looking at some mock drafts at lunch today. Its weird but we may have a decent shot at Landon Collins still in the second round.

Titans - Jaelen Strong or DT Eddie Goldman
Tampa - reportedly excited about OT TJ Clemmings still on board
Oakland - OT Jake Fisher
Jags - probably like OT also but might not be here for them
Jets - OLB Eli Harold?

Something like that would leave Landon Collins still available at #6. No idea if SM likes him or not, but kind of crazy if he is actually there at that pick.
