Four years, $32m. I thought it was interesting that that's the same deal Orakpo got with the Titans.

Only 26 years old. "Culliver has the size and skills to play man. Culliver allowed just 37 catches on 73 targets last season with the San Francisco 49ers for 468 yards and four touchdowns with four interceptions."

per ROTO

Skins address leaky back end, add CB Culliver
Redskins signed CB Chris Culliver, formerly of the 49ers, to a four-year, $32 million contract.
Culliver flashed his playmaking prowess in 2014 by reeling in four interceptions, one more than he had in his previous two seasons combined. Washington's secondary was among the league's worst last season, finishing 24th in passing yards allowed. David Amerson was particularly inept at right corner, routinely getting roasted on deep passes. Culliver should form an impressive tandem with promising 23-year-old Bashaud Breeland.

They appear to be building a Defense designed to be aggressive and physical. That would make me very happy. It would be nice to look at our D, and have no fear of three straight drives to snatch victory away at the end of the game

With the focus on signing defensive players, I would guess that SM has his sights on a couple offensive lineman he thinks will be available in the draft. Regardless, I really like what he is doing.

I don't think there has been a "focus on signing defensive players". The team reached out to a few offensive linemen earlier this week included some right tackles, but those players were mostly signed back to their teams. I think the focus has been on signing the best available, relatively young players to sane contracts.

For that reason I think the approach to the draft will be the same. Draft the best player you can get when its your turn to pick.

Riggo, you are dead on point. The days of picking up the flashiest free agents are apparently over. The days of drafting for need are apparently over as well. Look into upgrading everywhere with sound younger players in free agency and draft the best player on the board. We will really see if SM can stick to that if Mariota is available at number 5.

The one assumption that I just don't understand jumping to is that mariotta would be the best available if still there at 5. He may be the 2nd best qb, doesn't make him a top 5 player.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

Even if he is best he isnt best for us. He doesnt fit the system and from a skills perspective is an rg3 2.0. If we do draftba qb, which im not against, it should be with our 2nd or 3rd round pick and on a pocket passing qb like jay wants.

I could kinda go either way on this. Scot may have decided his BPAs are different from those of other GMs and they may be on the OL. This could have influenced what he's been doing in FA.

Would a trade allowing us to get both the top 2 OL in this draft be feakin' sweet or what? Imagine landing 2 (or 3  ) from among Scherff, Collins, Flowers, and Peat.

Yes, but not on today's date. He does it willy nilly.
