Redskins 2015 Expectations
I know many of you think the Redskins are at least a couple yrs. away from being able to compete at the championship level and I agree. What are your expectations for 2015? With an improved coaching staff, a GM with proven record identifying talent and $$$ to spend on free agents, my expectation is for the Redskins to win at least 8. You think this is to optimistic?

I was thinking we'd wait at least until after the draft for this thread.

hah. True! I'm not sure I'm willing to concede the point on "improved coaching staff" yet either. I think the jury is going to be out on that for a while. What we have right now is just a "slightly different coaching staff".

Re: Redskins 2015 Expectations
My expectations are REALLY LOW I've never been this pessimistic about them. By nature I'm a optimistic fan but I don't have any faith that the ownership and management will improve things. Gruden being forced to name Griffin his starter in February killed any faint hopes I had after the Skins hired Scot to be the GM. Hiring a proven talent evaluator briefly bolstered my hopes but the QB announcement signals to me the Snyder clown show is going to continue. The only reason Gruden would do an about face on the issue is Snyder. I can't imagine this having a positive effect on the players and their respect for Jay. At this point it looks to me Big Bucks Snyder is handing out 7 figure salaries and these football guys pocket the money and put the best face they can on it whether they agree or not. I hope I am wrong but I this year will be much like the last couple with Griffin being ineffectual and the defense and OL only marginally changed. I project 3-5 wins and the Skins drafting a QB in the 2016 draft after Griffin fails to show sufficient progress and Snyder finally throws in the towel.
I wish I could be more optimistic but my hopes have been curb stomped too many times by Dan Snyder.

I believe this is a 2-3 year fix...we have holes all over and you can't fill all these holes in FA. We have too much money in WR and need to deal with that. Our cap isn't too bad.
I do disagree on others about the coaching staff...
Barry, the Defensive Coordinator likes and wants the 3-4 base defense, Haslett didn't. I recognize Hazmat had lots of guys injured but he was not a good coach. All we heard before last year was we'd run the Pittsburgh 3-4...haha...we might have run the University of Pitts 3-4. He was way too passive and predictable -- other than the 1st Cowboys game, which we won!
Callahan has been a head coach and offensive coach for years. Adding a very experienced QB coach will help. Ferrell was D Cord for 4 years. The Dline coach Akey has coached for years. Gruden added lots of experience to his staff.
Scot will have a full compliment of picks now and hopefully we can add 2 very good starters at 1st and 2nd. A couple good subs and special team players at 3-4-5-6-7. A couple pick ups in free agency and that'll be a great first year.
My biggest worry is...do we have our starting qb on the team? If it's RGIII or Kirk, that is one less thing to spend a high pick on.
We won 4 last year. I'm predicting 7 wins with our schedule.
After the second draft and FA, I'd say 9 wins.
Super Bowl in 4!

Re: Redskins 2015 Expectations
I have low expectations, I think we'll see some good signs like Griffin showing that he's going to become a good NFL QB
the good news is that if we don't do too well Scot will have high draft picks in 2016 PLUS if we pick up more picks in the 2016 draft, we'll be in even better shape ... it's going to take 3 drafts people ... this is a huge mess we have here
I think we'll see some improvement - how hard is that going to be

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
