"This owner has it"

Post by tribeofjudah »

After all the bashing of Danny Boy from fans and from this THN boards, did Scot just give us the perfect Kiss A55 answer about the guy who writes the checks......?

This owner still sucks, and he need to stay out of the way. HOPE remains alive in DC.

He isn't the first to insist on these things. Joe Gibbs always maintained that Snyder was a great owner, wanted nothing but to win, incredibly supportive, etc. I frankly don't mind a great mind like Gibbs or McCloughan saying that in public and then doing the hard work and grind to make a successful team happen. It's that other stuff which is most important.

Besides, I'm willing to believe that Snyder actually does make a great impression to higher-up types in person who are on board with the team and not on his "crap" list. Yeah, that's a lot of qualifications, but McCloughan meets all of them at the moment . . . He can wine and dine you, talks a great game about winning and the organization, has that "I grew up as a fan" story, etc.

Snyder could be a pretty good guy with best intentions at heart. None of us know this either way. Fact is, you hear it from a lot of people that actually know him, saying he's a good guy with nothing but winning at the top of his list. Cooley insists that he's a great guy. Unfortunately, until now, he's had nobody who knows football in the building. McCloughan said as much at the presser. That he's now putting football people in the building.

I think Snyders biggest fault is empowering some of his players. We saw it with Portis and now Griffin. These players had more power than the coach. The good thing about this hire, is that they now have yet another layer between Snyder and the players. He's too much of a fan when it comes to ownership. Seems like he gets star struck.

But when all's said and done, he is learning to be a good owner, and he provides anyone who is working for him, anything they ask for for the betterment of the team and to win. He just has had the wrong people telling him what to do for the better of 15 years.

But if we can't blame Snyder what are we supposed to talk about??? I'd be lost. That's like discovering your evil ex is actually a decent person. :?

You understand that this was a comment made by someone that has not yet really worked with the owner..... and posted on the website controlled by the owner, right? If he says the same thing in 3 years and comes from a non-partisan outlet, I'll listen.

And as far as players --- I'm sure they all love him. He overpays for old players and under-expects. He gets star struck and allows that to get in the way of his thinking. He's a player's dream.

It is no secret I'm not a huge fan of Danny boy and the fact a 5 day old GM speaks highly of him doesn't do much for my opinion.....
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Maybe we can just get back to blaming Mara... it's much more fun, and far less frustrating.
