Yep, this has been known for a while, that teams would essentially be forced into it. Another one of Godell's brilliant moves.

I give you one guess which team WON'T be forced into it.
I know he got a pretty good zip on the ball. He has a quick release. . . once I seen a coupla' throws, I was just like 'Yeah, he's that dude.'"

When we get picked and the team complains, Mara will volunteer his opinion that we got off easy and should have been forced to do 2 or 3 seasons in a row.

Could be good or bad... being publically put out there could force the team to improve some of the little things we do wrong during camp.... or it could expose how wrong we do things lol.

Ultimately it would be a bad idea... would be too many anti redskins name proponents trying to get their 15 minutes of fame.

I think we should Definitely do the Hard Knocks. I would love to our favorite team behind the scenes. Would be great! I mean we should not worry about whether or not it affects our team in a bad way. I mean damn, WE only won 4 games this year and 3 the last, so I mean it is not like we won the Super Bowl and should be worrying about falling off, we are already at the bottom. So I think it would be fun for all Redskins fans to get to see a behind the scenes look at the team. If any of you guys have not seen any of the Hard Knock series before, then should watch them, they are great. But for the ones that have not seen, its a must to watch on HBO because they cut a lot of things out for tv.

Shouldn't the rule be that teams that have made the playoffs be forced to do it, not the other way around? Why punish teams that are already down? I thought they were trying for parity.

Well, if HBO wants drama, the skins are the OBVIOUS choice!!!

As far as non-playoff teams being forced into it --- is that a new rule? Of the 9 seasons, 5 have been playoff teams -- 2000 Ravens, 2006 KC, 2007 Cowboys, 2009 Jets, 2012 Bengals.

That being said, I wouldn't be that surprised if we were selected. HBO generally picks teams that are somewhat decent or have a good market, which eliminates TBAY, TENN, STL. CLE is a pretty boring franchise (although the Manziel angle could be good). I doubt Goodell wants HBO to bring more attention to the NFL's issue with domestic violence, so that eliminates MINN. JACK has already done it (right??? -- even still no one would want to watch a hard knocks with JACK, they have no fanbase and are boring in that they have no big names and people don't know anything about them); and we know NYG won't be picked....

If I were an exec at HBO, I would want HOU or WAS of the available options. WAS has a ton of drama with a notorious owner, name issue, a new GM with a history of substance abuse problems entering himself into a historically idiotic FO, and large fanbase market. HOU is actually a good team and run fairly well with a passionate fan base in a football state.

I personally would love to watch a skins hard knocks, but all in all would prefer it did NOT happen only because it isn't what the franchise needs right now.
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

I wrote this earlier this week, but we are unquestionably the most entertaining, dysfunctional team in the league. Forget Hard Knocks, this team should have its own year long reality show.

Interesting... So Cleveland is definitely out, but check out who the most likely three are:

According to Tony Grossi of ESPNCleveland.com, the Browns request to not be on the HBO training camp documentary has been granted. He mentions that Washington, along with the Bills and the Texans, are the likeliest subjects this year.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... not-on-it/

I know a lot of people are against it and have some good reasons for that. Personally I would LOVE the opportunity to see what it looks like behind the scenes with this team. Hard Knocks is awesome.

Oh Riggo how things have changed since your last post in Jan and now.

I hope we do appear on hard knocks. If anything I think that show makes the team work and prepare even harder.

Well if we are forced to do it, Gruden has the benefit of what to expect having done it with Cincy.

I'm glad we won't for the sake of our coaches and players.

. . . still, I can't deny that I would have enjoyed watching it were the team forced to do it. Maybe some other year.

Its probably the last thing Griffin would have needed this year. But yeah, I would love to watch the team on Hard Knocks. That's an awesome show.

Good point. I hadn't even considered that. That would have been disastrous for any chance of him righting his career, IMO.

The Skins seem like a reality show anyway with Snyder running it so might as well do it.
